Am I wrong to think that this may not be the best layout for your furniture? I just get the feeling that the loveseat should go where the sofa is and vise -versa. The loveseat on the other wall would not make the light switches such an issue and would fit better between the door opening and window. But I also see you have a shelving unit... A larger lamp to bring the eye up would also balance those windows out better.

I would also recommend floating the sectional. Having it pushed against the wall maximizes floorspace (if that's what you want) but tends to make a space feel disconnected and not at all cozy. I like Celery's furniture suggestions, but I would pull the whole seating group closer to the fireplace and put bookshelves or some other storage piece against the wall. It looks like there is enough room to do that and still have space to walk behind the sectional.

I think the sofa needs to face the fireplace, put. The tv above but the tv that looks like a picture until you turn it on. Not a fan of having your back to the fireplace. Then just get some art and coordinate with pillows and throw . Good Luck , show us after pictures 👍

Unfortunately the focal point is not the fireplace wall, but the blank wall; it‘s overwhelming the room. Updating the space next to fireplace and adding cushions in the end won’t really help much. The entire room should be considered and whatever you decide to do, be sure you have an overall concept. It’s such an important room. Suggest a smaller TV on a swivel if needed with seating - I’d place couch on wall with large art, some lighting and two chairs You would have to measure out to see what would work best. Instead of just considering wall next to fireplace, be sure mantle is tied in style wise and it all feels connected to rest of room. Studio McGee has a grest line of accessories at Target at really good prices. Cushions are the easiest decision and should come last. Your room is neutral so any color combo would work; it’s really a personal preference/what flows with other rooms.
