WWYD with a blue tile floor?
Comments (8)I would suggest thinking about adding in green in a major way. Blues and greens are soothing pool-ey, garden-ey colors that work very very well together. Ceasarstone Apple Martini Tropical Green Granite Marinace Green Granite Rainforest Green Marble Jurrassic Green Granite Wild West Green Granite Marina Green Granite For a real life pool house remodel..... This St. Louis poolhouse kitchen was the 2011 Kitchen of the Year. It uses a blues and greens as it's base, but punches it up with strong terra cottas and yellows. Comments (4)Yeah, there should be some "extra" rent that goes towards a down payment. A twist on a "rent to own" would be a lease with an option to purchase, in which case they'd just pay market rent and have the option within a certain period of time to buy it at an agreed-upon price. But it would need to be at a price acceptable to you, which I'm assuming 20% below list isn't. This option is actually more preferable for the buyer, because if the market value goes up they get a good deal down the road, and if it goes down they can not take the option, or negotiate a lower price with you....See MoreWWYD- Question regarding fireplace
Comments (6)We had a gas insert installed in an existing wood burning fp. It's my understanding that the insert can be removed, and the wood burning fp would then be usable again as such (if some future owner prefers to have a wood burning fp). A metal flue of sorts was inserted up into (through?) the existing chimney. Our fp wall is brick, and nothing was ripped out as part of the installation. The installers worked very "cleanly" and there was no damage to the surrounding wall (or anything). I only had to touch-up (paint) a few small spots where the insert's metal frame/trim sits against the brick (we had painted the brick wall/fp black as part of the FR reno). FWIW, we use our fp just about every single evening during the winter months!...See MoreNew To Me Kitchen Questions--WWYD?
Comments (14)I also agree on waiting. Get moved in, work around in the kitchen this coming year, noting by that what you'd like changed. Could be you'll want to put in more lower drawers... I can't see enough of the base cabs to tell how many are there. Maybe be looking at tile for the BS (even if just over the stove). I like slab doors - easier to keep clean. Nothing to catch the dust/dirt that'll need cleaned out. How about changing out the hardware? That could make a big difference in the look. Those are things to take time thinking about. You could tie a piece of wire around a few knobs to simulate a handle to see if you think that'd look better. (maybe someone here knows another way to do that). I have some velcro strips that would work - bought them at Walmart for about 6.00 (I used them to hold a bandage on my dog's leg). They're stiff enough to wrap around the bottom of the knob, stick together above it and stay in position. (clip down to a normal handle height). I put a paper towel cardboard on the back of my kitchen faucet to give me an idea how I'll like a new taller faucet in place of the old (leaky) one....See MoreYayagal
