Please help...I'm pulling my hair out over these bathrooms
Comments (21)for some reason, i stopped getting emails about the follow-ups. thank you so much for the ideas everyone. gmp3- i didn't even think about gray with green!! i love that print. i have dorian gray in the living room and hall so it would def be easier to continue the gray into the bathroom. would it be too dark? there is no window. I also have revere pewter in another bedroom so I can use the left over. I was planning on using revere pewter in the yellow bathroom. we decided on this tile for the kitchen and hall: 'canyon expresso' from lowes, would this work as well? I'd love to be able to use all the stuff we already have as it would really help us on the cost and labor. i love that vanity, and i can't find it. please send me a link. thanks again....See MoreI'm new and so is my kitchen! Comments (37)Three things about the space...I think the fridge does work best by the main sink, especially if the table is over there, too. The prep sink on the island is FOR the cooktop/range. Without it, you don't have a very functional kitchen. I think the island works best opposite the cooktop, but maybe just a bit smaller. The desk should be in the kitchen, IMHO, but not in the main work zones. By changing the island slightly and moving a stool to the end, you are no longer all lined up and it will be easier to visit with the cook and each other. Also, the desk chair should be the same height as the table chairs...that way you can move it over for extra seating, when needed. The banquette will give you MUCH more seating, because people can squeeze in, where chairs would take more room. Having the banquette on one side only, makes it easier for people to access and with outdoor fabric, a breeze to clean up. There are some beautiful outdoor fabrics (that look like indoor) that would be perfect for the banquette, cushions, chairs, etc. Oh, and I think the banquette will allow you to sit in the sun and take full advantage of the windows and view...although the windows will have to be a little higher from the floor, for the banquette. Hope this helps :) From Kitchen plans One more thing...why is the laundry door opening out? It would probably make more sense to swing into the room, against that right side (away from sink) but can't see entire space. Comments (8)You have a nice room to work with! I like the existing wall color you already have.. I'd be tempted to leave it :) Instead of making the long wall the "Wow" wall, instead I would make the accent walls the two shorter ones at each end. The Fireplace wall and the wall behind your kitchen table. I like the window treatment you used behind the sofa.. in the rust color. I'd do something similar flanking both sides of the fireplace. Bring in the Celery color you like in the fabric. Look for a fabric with the Celery color in it from the Rug and the rust color in it to tie it in with your other curtains. I'd remove the pedestal things that are on either side of the fireplace. They will distract from your main focal point Your decorated fireplace Mantel . If you want to paint any of the walls the Celery color that is in the rug..I'd do both of the short walls. The fireplace wall and the wall behind the kitchen table. I'd leave both sides of the long walls alone. Love your sofa! Perhaps a Celery colored Throw tossed over the back? I see you have a green throw? possibly in the black chair.. maybe one that matches the exact color in the rug. Also when choosing the green paint, make sure it is dark, rich enough to hold it's own against your rich mocha walls. But not too dark LOL I love the color of the rectangle square in the carpet. The smaller rectangle shape. Not the green on the ottoman cubes, that is more of the sage, olivey green. I really like that rich Celery in the rug. I'd just try to match it exactly and paint the short walls with it and call it a day Maybe someone can do a mock up for you. I'd rather see the rich Celery than a red/rust on the walls. Just to keep it more airy, but yet rich looking! Good Luck!...See MoreI’m new and need help keeping my Aloe Vera alive
Comments (2)Pls don't be fooled into buying all sorts of stuff that you don't need. A clay pot, a bag of Perlite to amend your soil which isn't fast draining enough & that's it, along w/ appropriate care as suggested above (mix it 50/50, equal parts of each soil & Perlite). YouTube has lots of good & bad info. Pls. trust sites that have something like .edu, plant or biology in their addies, that would indicate more accredited, plant-knowledgeable folks, not folks growing plants as trends or decor. That spot is way too dark for it, if you're growing it there, rather than just taking the pic, needs to be at a window at least....See MoreAmanda Catron
