Bedroom Shutters - Crazy?
Comments (11)Hi Tikatoo. I have shutters in every room of our first floor, and I love them! I have the 2" wood plantation shutters in white, with no visible wand "thingy" (can't think of the correct word). You just use your hands to open the top and bottom louvers independently, which is a real bonus. It works really well when the sun is shining in and you want to filter it, but still have the light. My husband likes them because he can control the light coming in when watching TV in our great room without making it too dark. I am so glad I got them, and I do think they help with insulation. You mentioned you are in central New York, and I hear the winters are long and cold! (My newly married son and his wife just moved to that area this summer) Also, I have allergies and they don't hold the dust like fabrics. I just use a swiffer duster (actually my husband helps with this a lot). I vote yes for your shutters!...See MoreHelp me with some decisions as I refresh my bedroom.
Comments (2)Hello Enduring, Not sure if this is resolved, but for the last concern, that is actually the first one that catches my eye. I would definitely remove the current carpeting, and add a beautiful area rug to the space. It would help the space feel more modern, and warm....See MoreNeed help picking the right color and style duvet cover

Comments (6)Centering, is in IMO, evil. Why do you have to center anything. I would remove the curatin panels and expose the windows. regardless of what they look like. I would also use up/down bambo shades, inside mount.(shades come in a variety of colors, grays, too, if that's your preference. Hang a drape rod at the ceiling, and get some textured fabric of your liking, flank the windows. ... for privacy, pull the blinds, the drapes are just for texture and softness. I would also find two different bedside tables, tall slim lamps. Paint the entire room, ceiling and walls the same color. replace the light fixture with a ceiling light that is more attractive than useful, like a statement fixture that sheds light upward I'd post something, but I don't know your style. Have fun decorating!...See MoreDanielle Lyn
