Agree with the others about the curtains, so it's unanimous! Do not care for the lamps on the nightstands. They look like desk lamps and unless they have VERY heavy bases they look like they would be pulled off the tables if they were moved around very much. Do you have to have matching lamps? I know it is the usual thing, but it isn't really necessary. Love the wall color and looking forward to seeing the curtains in situ.

Chicory, here is a pic of the curtains as I have one tacked up there now. I am probably going to add trim to the top or along the sides of the cutains to add a little umph! to them. These curtains are really well made and the fabric came from Calico Corners. The girl I am buying them from says that she paid $800 for all 4 and she is wanting $150 for them. I think it's such a bargain and I really want them to work! LOL I've also included pics of the rest of my kitchen........

This is an old thread which I happened to come across in a search to hide vertical blinds in a rental--in my case, over sliding doors. Check with the HOA if you live where there is one because some do not allow the slats to be taken down in order to preserve the symmetry on the outside, especially in "cookie cutter" neighborhoods. Verticals may be dated--but then so are the ideas of many HOA's-- and the fines are very real and can be quite steep. If you rent, you may be charged by the owners for any fees incurred for the violation of some very antiquated and weird rule. And there are some owners who do not want them removed for whatever reason, which can become a hassle when inspection time comes up before rent renewal.

Get ready for the pearl clutching and parenting lectures — basically you’ll be told that you should have a stadium light shining in your baby’s face all day and night, as well as hit an air horn every hour … otherwise, your baby will grow up to never know how to sleep and well, let’s face it, will become a serial killer because you darkened their room. Welcome to Houzz! Anyway, I’d probably use outside mount Roman shades. Not sure you can have long curtains with the heaters? (I’ve never had wall units like that so don’t know.) Or curtains that stop at the sill … another rule breaker here, but can be very charming and functional in certain situations. I’d use with return rods. I think a ceiling mount rod would look odd on just that one window. You can easily have it on the frame or on the wall (French return or no finials). Or window treatments on the other windows and leave this one with just blinds.
