Inconsistent rationale on granite seam location

Matt

We went to 5 different counter top places this weekend, 3 private companies and 2 big box stores.

We were going to go with quartz, but switched gears to granite because we like the depth the patterns we liked (Mesabi and Steel Rock) gave, plus it's substantially cheaper than the quartz we were looking at which was an added benefit.

Anyways, we are getting conflicting feedback from the counter top places about where the seam should be on the "L" shaped piece.

  • Some are saying we should split down the center of the sink right through the single hole for the faucet (red line, letter A). They said this would minimize the amount of visible seam.
  • Another is saying we should split it just to the right of the sink, about halfway between the sink and the corner (green line, letter B). They mentioned either doing a straight cut or a curved cut.
  • Last one said we should split it right at the corner going vertical (orange line, letter C).

So i'm looking for feedback/rationale from the pro's or those with experience on here. This will be the first time we've ever contracted work out in our 15 years of home ownership and will also be the most we've ever spent on a single item. So i want to make sure we are doing it right!
