Bathroom Remodel Tile the Wall or just Paint? Pics inside
Comments (20)In the master bedroom, I have beige marble saturnia. I understand what you are saying, but I really don't think a clear/blueish translucent glass in the shower, and then the 2nd backsplash I linked for the wall behind the vanity (not the electric blue one) wouldn't work with the beige porcelain. I mean the beige color is a neutral color, I will then have expresso as the vanity color, similar glass to the subway tile glass on the vanity top and the vessel bowls, so not sure why the beige porcleain wouldnt work? It would blend well with the master bedroom floor and I would imagine it would just provide a neutral color. I think if I go with a pure gray it will be too dark and dreary. I just hope whatever floor I pick that the contractor does it with 1/8" grout lines with a grout color that matches very well. I hope the contractor doesnt give me a hard time about the 1/8" grout lines and a hard time when I ask for it to be a diagonal layout. I am going to do 18"x18". To Tina, I agree, I dont think a border will be necessary in the shower, I just didnt know if it was "too much" glass all in one area and needed to be broken up. But I looked online and many subway glass showers have no border. In terms of metal finish, you mean like on the vanity and shower? Well the vanity doesnt give me any other option but chrome, and I was going to get this shower panel: Shower panel...See MoreWhich would you choose if this were your kitchen? Pics
Comments (23)The combinations are beautiful but I am completely confused ... there are more than just two tiles and two mosaic boards in the pictures: There is the LA, a simply gorgeous beige limestone looking tile (is it a limestone or is that the crossville tuscan clay?), a long & narrow set of big tiles with what I think is a crossville tag (which means my beige limestone tile hasn't been addressed at all :-( ), and there is also a crocodile tile there. Then there are the two mosaic boards. So, I can't really figure out which of the figures your four options refer to nor where would those be used. For my part, I LOVE the Labrodor antique tile and I assume you're considering that for the counter (Check and I approve ;-) ). I also love that beige limestone looking thing - but don't think that should be a counter option if you're considering it for there - make it the floor and you're a-okay in my book. Don't care for the long narrow big tile especially if it replaces either of the other two. The mosaics - both are gorgeously beautiful but if callieandkarin say that theirs is the WZ weave, then the bamboo weave gets my vote although the other is lovely too. With the LA, though, I would double the vote for the bamboo weave as it will complement the LA and not fight it for independent validation. Beautiful choices. But please, what is that gorgeous limestone stone/tile???? I need to know this!...See MorePlease help - Which shower tile combo would you choose?
Comments (17)I like the same 12 x24 porcealian tile on both bathroom floors and shower walls, layed in the same aptteren I like stacked . I really dislkke niches and I much prefer a caddy . The shower floor same color just smaller tiles and all one color of grout. IMO the fewer finishes in small spaces the longer you will like them. Makes it easy to change wall color , accessories for a bit of a change.I actully like matching grout to keep it even simpler....See MoreNeed recommendations on sealing window inside shower - see pics
Comments (21)I used a paint-on waterproofing on my window sill (actually all 4 sides of the window opening) and on the cement wall board surrounding the shower as well. Most have heard of Red Guard for doing this, I used a similar TEC product: https://www.menards.com/main/flooring-rugs/tile-stone/tile-installation-maintenance/tile-waterproofing-surface-prep-systems/tec-reg-hydraflex-trade-waterproofing-crack-isolation-membrane-1-gal/7002745011/p-1512978148199-c-6590.htm?exp=false We then installed a sloped sill (similar to Corian) and caulked it to the window frame with clear silicone. IMO, it sounds like your contractor has the right idea. The remaining 3 sides of the window opening had cement board installed, water-prooofed with the TEC product, and then ceramic tile installed using thinset and grout....See MoreHomeDecorAZ
