Good bye 1980's kitchen and rest of house!
Comments (19)All of the design and decorating kudos go to the GF! My son just went along and paid the bills..lol..she bought some stuff too.. and my DH and I just helped with the free labor!!! She really has decorated the house beautifully and on a budget.. in all areas except the floor they stayed in the budget we worked out prior to the purchase! Here are a few more b/4 and after.. dining room before.. I still have to get a new pic from that angle.. but next two you can get the idea after living room beforeonce again.. different angle.. but LR after - no more french doors, and wider opening master bath before.. REALLY UGLY!!! This is after.. but before the vanity and mirror were put in.. one wall of all subway tile, my husband did!! And crummy acrylic shower was replaced with tiled with frameless door....See More1980s rancher paint HELP
Comments (2)I don't think the black/navy will look great with your cottage style desires. Too much contrast. How about a blue gray paint color for the stucco and garage doors? Then, the dark navy for the front door and white for window trim and garage trim. Oh...get some larger coach lights for the garage doors and a matching one for the front door area....See More1980s Straight Ranch needs updates
Comments (3)I would do the windows and doors first. Replacement window trim is done in aluminum, of course usually white, most versatile color. But have seen replacement windows in a dark color and trim in dark color. Have in mind what color you want for siding. I would think the siding is easier to install after windows replaced otherwise the window installers have to mess with the siding some. Soffits/overhangs are usually done in aluminum so have that done before siding too. The roof, I assume you mean shingles. Im not sure, maybe easier to pick color for shingles once siding is on... But, when I had my shingles replaced the roofers had to mess with my siding a bit because of flashing needed to be redone, to bring it up to current code, where my garage roof abuts my house, against siding , so maybe do roof before siding, and let roofers know you are replacing siding. I would imagine it would be cheaper overall to do windows and siding at the same time because of some overlap in procedures but I don't know that. Get estimates on both separate and at same time....See MoreUpdate 1980s exterior
Comments (4)What color is your roof? On my screen it looks almost purple. If it is in that color family, your choices are limited....See MorePPF.
