So funny on the surrounded by weed comment! I can relate to the weeds but those I have like that just did not bloom! Amazing how many buds on Last Chance for Romance. Your reblooms are so pretty. I love the red dianthus.i am a huge fan of dianthus in my beds and that one is indeed rockin red!!

Interesting doubling on Light Of The World. I don't think I've seen it do that here.Wild Red Heart seems to like your garden even with weeds and shade. Nice bitone.

Thanks for sharing some extra garden photos! It’s good to see you are still rockin the rebloom. That’s a great hibiscus! One bonus here this season is all of the wild life across the street from me is county prairie gardens. There are dozens of monarchs, swallowtails and frequent hummingbird sightings In my yard. It seems I never have my equipment to photograph when those tiny birds flit in and out of the yard. Along with the prairie gardens come the weeds, argh.......

Julia - Wild Red Heart died back to one fan a few years ago and has taken a long time to re-establish. I though the place where I moved it last fall would work. Maybe I will leave it there for another year and see what happens.

Sherry - How nice that the nearby prairie garden attracts so many flying creatures. I've never been able to get a good hummingbird shot. They move too fast for me. I did get some pics of gold finches mining my coneflowers last week. They're a little fuzzy since I was photograping from all the way across the garden.

So many pretty blooms! I love the dianthus. I am going to have to check that variety out. I planted dianthus a few years ago among the miniatures and I was surprised that to see they have come back every year. They tend to quit blooming in the heat of the summer and pick back up in the fall. I love the pentas and hibiscus too.

Kate - Last Chance for Romance is well-budded this season. Even growing in part shade, it has 16-20 buds per scape.

Hoosier Nan- Rockin Red is a taller dianthus, and it's supposed to be perennial.

So many neat things to look at. My fav. daylily out of this group remains River City Surfer. I hope to see it in your garden next year since I won't be adding it to mine.....I like your Dianthus too. I was surprised when some of mine overwintered way back when. Dianthus does not like our heavy clay soil. Over the years my clumps have diminished in spread as our climate and soil works on them, but I still like them alot and continue to replace a patch every few years. Always wished I could grow Carnations..............Maryl

Wild Red Heart grows well here, but it did not join the extravagant bloom of so many cultivars this year. I like the pentas pic.

I really, really like Royal Jester , just different enough for it to stand out amongst loads of other blooms. Also really love the clear sharp coloring on Blue Jay Tapestry , it is a beauty !

I always like Royal Jester when you show that one. Blue Jay is really nice too, you have several nice ones reblooming. I have a few reblooming, but most of those are finishing up now. I was most surprised with Mississippi Man. I only have a single fan, but it just put up its 2nd rebloom scape. Looks like it is adding a couple of tiny fans too. I have always loved dianthus, and there are some really pretty varieties now. Like Maryl's, I think all of mine have gradually died out. Some of the biennial forms outlasted the perennial. Guess I need to replace mine, yours remind me how much I miss them.

Great FFOs and rebloom! And still blooming )) Skater is my favorite today. My Light of the World doubles at the end of blooming, it was among the sick this year so I only got a few small flowers.

Nice assortment of other perennials! I didn't know dianthus was perennial. Beautiful butterfly and bird.

Nat - I hope your LIght of the World is back to normal next year. There are both annual and perennial dianthus.
