I personally think the pattern is too busy with the bedding. Since you have some red accents, why not pull that into the rug. I briefly looked at your link - but didn't have time to search through the reds. Your woodwork and floors are really nice and I think the right red would really warm up the space.

The rug actually works really well with my current window treatments, which are roman shades topped with a valance: I've just been longing for woven wood shades and side panels. I wish that I could buy more of the fabric that I used for the valance and trim on the romans, but I made it from some drapery panels about 6 years ago, and they have been discontinued. I like the look of these panels from West Elm: I have to say, the rug is really growing on me. I got it at the most unexpected place - Big Lots - and it was only $128, and it's 100% wool.

They look like they will coordinate well with each other and your drapes, but I've found that it's sometimes quite difficult to judge colors from photos on line. If they have a 2 x 3 maybe you can order that and send it back if you have to for not quite so much $$. Or maybe the 2 x 3 can be used elsewhere in your home. I'd want to have a chance to see it all together IRL before committing. If the smaller size isn't an option, maybe you can find out the mfg and check it out locally. OTH, Ballards frequently has discounts noted in their catalogues. Maybe waiting until they run a great sale might be a good idea. While you're waiting you'll have a chance to perhaps score a perfect buy on CL or Ebay. Good luck!

I had the opposite problem with a rug from overstock - it was called "ivory" but it was distinctly gold. It also smelled awful (the ink) and gave me a headache in the few days it was here! I sent it back but they don't refund shipping for the return which was $16 and of course it is a hassle to bring a big rug back to the UPS store. I have ordered several rugs from Overstock and been very happy with them, but the ivory/gold thing did not make me happy nor did the toxic smell. So if color is really important read reviews careful to see what the feedback is on it IRL and maybe even call them to ask.
