Color scheme for a bedroom with multitone cedar furniture

Just bought what I consider to be a beautiful bedroom set. It is all aromatic cedar under tongue-oil or a similar finish; random patterns of dark orange and tan. Very similar to this...

My problem is that I don't have decorator instincts and the scarce online images I have found of similar furniture are all set against bland showroom backdrops (or they are dressed up like in the image above with a bed cover which makes no sense to me.

I am thinking solid primary colors in natural fabrics, maybe dark reds, greens or navy blue. Trying to build on the organic without going all cowboy/western. Pretty sure that any patterns which I add will clash with the wood's natural coloring (again as in the image above).

Currently the walls are eggshell and I will be getting new carpet once I decide on a color scheme. I am open to repainting the walls too as long as it doesn't darken the room to much.

Any suggestions and/or success stories (with pictures) are welcome.
