what color front door with navy blue house
Comments (37)I'm sticking with my original advice! "Rich goldenrod is also a good contrast to navy, and has a certain elegance...think about the gold braid on a Navy uniform... something like BMoore "Dorset Gold" (HC-8), or SW 6369 "Tassel," which is deeper. If you choose gold, be careful to stay away from anything that goes toward orange, as the navy will intensify that tone."...See MoreNavy house painted brick with hearty board, lap siding advice
Comments (13)I follow Studio McGee and she recently built her home and did a mixture of textures with painted brick and so it made me think about incorporating brick. I like mixtures of textures but I don’t want a navy house with white hearty board and red brick— I want it all to be navy with different textures and white trim to get some old world charm so I’m asking for ideas. I have an architect that we are just starting with but you’re right, I’m probably way ahead of the game. I just want to know what I want for the exterior so I can be better prepared to work with the architect. Thanks for all your help!!...See MoreCoordinating Colors for Hale Navy
Comments (33)Beth--- this is just my 2 cents but I would not do that color on the front door. I live in a neighborhood of over 2000 homes in sunny Florida. We can pretty much paint our homes any color we want. I see all the homes who have done the pop of color for the front door and 9 out of 10 times it doesn't work. All you notice is the door. I find it takes away from the home instead of adding value to it. When we were trying to decide on our color my fiancee actually made renditions of the home. He would add different colors to the door so we could see how it would look. Maybe take a picture of your house and upload it to SW and use their paint tool and see how it would look....See MoreIs Hale Navy too dark?
