I would want a new set to match or not do the pedestals.

It sounds like it would bother me, but I'd have to see it. Black and beige can certainly look nice together. I suppose you could make it work with accessories, such as a black/beige rug.

Jess, I just looked online at Samsung's black stainless w/d and their champagne pedestal. Sorry, I vote no.

Is your laundry area on public display or is out of the way (say, in a closet, a laundry room or a basement)? If out of the way, no problem. I might consider a quick repaint of the front of the pedestals. Get a spray can of epoxy appliance paint in a not-too-different shade of black, scuff the paint on the front of the pedestals, and spray on a couple of coats.

I can see it being less of an issue if your laundry room/area is out of sight. That's not the case with ours. It's right off the kitchen.

This would not bother me a bit, everything would still be symmetrical.

Jess, then that makes more sense if no one will see and it saves $400. I've seen plenty "out of sight" laundry spaces with a mismatched w/d. At least yours will match! As I mentioned, our laundry room is off the kitchen. You have to walk through it to access a half bath that guests occasionally use. I'm just more particular for that reason.

There are Etsy vendors who make vinyl decals for appliances. How fun would black polka dots be on the pedestals!

I asked my cat and he said you should paint the washer and dryer to match the pedestals. OK, OK, I don't actually own a cat.

My cats vote for mice stickers on the pedestals. I've never looked at them but wonder about the ones that appear to be drawers. I can imagine them working as laundry bins where one could sort whites and colors in the two drawers. Do they make them with baskets behind the pullouts? Could one drill ventilation holes in the drawer sides without damaging them? Maybe that isn't a viable idea, and they are always just risers with no other function.

I like the idea of saving $400 and adding decals to mesh the colors.

I have pedistals....drawers are good for rags, clothes pins, and towels. Very handy. Raises machines so no need to bend so !ow also.

I bought a pedestal but felt better about myself when I stood on it instead of the washer. People really started to look up to me.
