Need suggestions for kitchen area rug
Comments (0)We have an new/old farmhouse style kitchen table. It measures 7' x 4'. My problem is I can't find a rug to go under it. I don't even know what style to look for that would look right with it. Should I go with a sisal? Floral? Stripe? The table is a cream with a darker wood underneath, it has a distressed finish. It has 6 non matching chairs (on purpose lol) Our island (runs parallel to the table) is painted a dark green & has also been distressed. The rest of our cabinets are a dark oak (I'm slowly working my way to painting them also, hubby is not crazy about the idea lol) I have an antique hutch that sits fairly close to the table. Our floor is cream 16x16 tile, which is the main reason I want a rug, winter is coming & it's very cold. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)...See MoreNeed paint color suggestions/advice for kitchen cabinets
Comments (5)I looked at Elephant Breath (SW I think), Revere Pewter by BM, and couple others. They looked just great when put on the horizontal surface; the moment I turned the painted samples vertically as kitchen cabinets would ultimately be, they lost their warmth and seemed much cooler and dull, in any light-inside the house and in the full sun outside. I ended up looking at 14(!) samples taking them around the house and checking them in different lights and times of a day. In the end, I went with a custom color that I happened to stumble upon in our carpenter's shop. It was a formula that was mixed by some designer for a very high end kitchen in Malibu..It turned out to be wonderful. The cabinets are installed and make me happy each time I look at them. But it's not gray. I don't even know what I should call this color. I just know I like it lol. Get samples; you never know how a color would behave until you try it. It will be tiresome; but ultimately you will be pleased with your choice....See MoreNeed advice on kitchen rug
Comments (4)Do you also need something to make it easier to stand and work on the tile for long periods of time? If so, consider gel rugs for in front of the counters. There are many brands at various price points. They are easy to clean. GelPro rugs/mats have been recommended on this site in the past, although they aren't cheap. You can probably find more affordable versions elsewhere - whether they're as good, I don't know. It's something to look into at least if you need something more comfortable to stand on. http://www.gelpro.com/...See MoreKitchen Renovations with Renderings- Need suggestions/advice
Comments (4)What idiot cabinet seller put the sink so close to the range rather than in the island? Or, the range so close to the sink? You need to stop, and post an actual measured floor plan to the Kitchen Forum. Nothing is in the right spot. I see a lot of money being spent on too many expensive decorative details, and a virtual appliance showroom, and not nearly enough attention paid to how this space will actually work. It's dysfunctional....See Morequadesl
