apartment ac unit wont get temperature below high 70s low 80s....
Comments (1)The unit may need a charge of freon - have them check the charge. They can also clean the evaporator coil (inside unit) which may be full of dust/dirt especially if they use those cheap-o blue spun fiberglass filters....See Morecan we talk exterior paint for my 70s ranch...again? (pic)
Comments (38)I would suggest when you do paint the house that you paint the whole house first with that strip painted out so he can see it without and paint that piece of the trim last as then you can see how it would look without and with it. Well what I was trying to say is your house does lean towards the spanish revival and you keep saying you want spanish and not tuscan, mexican etc. and really what is spanish color theme tends to be white or a very light color that reads white with a darker trim color such as brown, or more very muted colors. Landscaping makes a huge difference in how a house looks too. What I'm wondering is if you really have settled in your mind what you want the house to be or if you really need the house to be one particular style. Many color will work for your house as long as you pick something that works with the roof color. Maybe it is your mentioning spanish that throws me off. BTW if you look at the picture I posted it is a very simple style except for the tower and the other items are things your house has or will have too. You have arches, you have the curved wall, the raised trim, you're adding a pergola (not a porch like in the house shown). You could on your gable sides add corbels either dark stained wood or faux looking wood like you're planning for the garage door. If you look at a spanish villa - they tend to be white, with tile roofs, mainly boxy. Some have arches, some have railings that are often white and look like concrete formed (don't know the correct terminology). I guess I would ask yourself do you want the spanish look, or does it really matter and should you just go with a color that you like and not worry about trying to keep to a particular style?...See MoreFinished Kitchen Cream & Blue Cabinets '80s ranch refresh pics
Comments (54)kimmieb - What an extremely thoughtful, resourceful and inspiring "refresh" - I am sure you will like it more than you would the 100K kitchen (I do :) because you did it yourself, worked with what you had and made it your own. Not to mention that you used an incredibly fabulous and relaxing color in the kitchen. I say... gray-blue, blue-gray, gray-blue, a little green-gray and maybe something slightly purple-blue-gray - that is where my brain lives these days. My old place was more yellow/beige and fresh greens/blue-greens. I had to fight myself to not make our current place blue-gray inside and out but needed other colors - if only to complement/accent more blue-gray :) It is amazing how color preferences can shift. Believe it or not my horizon's actually expended after many hours on the kitchen and home decorating forum. I even painted a bathroom tomato red! I hope your kitchen inspires more beautiful colorful painted kitchens....See Morehow to make cheap 70's cabinets look nicer
Comments (6)Thanks so much, y'all! Many of the things mentioned are things on the eventually "to do" list but it's nice to have my thoughts validated. Sadly, I don't think popcorn removal is a valid option for us, at l least not at this time, and I haven't convinced myself it's truly worth it. I wish we could do that throughout the whole house! I am working on cleaning up the countertops cuz they look horrible and everything is so hard to to keep clean. The kitchen is pretty much my husband's domain so getting rid of anything is a long, slow process! I tried not to show too much of it in the pictures! LOL I love the idea of hidden hinges. I will look into that. I'd love to also replace the top moulding, but I'll definitely have to look into the cost. yeah it looks cheap... like I said, 70's mobile home, LOL! Any recommendations on colors if I choose to paint? and what color hardware if I decide to change it? I'm leaning towards something colorful and bright. There is only one tiny window there, and the yard is all shaded, so not much light at all comes in....See MoreUser
