Need advice for the front door and shutter color!
Comments (1)A pop of color would draw you in.I love the idea of a red front door. Apparently, the color of your front door says something about the home owners. Through out history and across cultures a red front door has been a symbol. Red door means the home within is a vibrant place, full of life, energy, and excitement. In Feng Sui, a red door symbolizes the mouth of the home. By painting our door red (or any bright color that stands out) chi (positive energy) is drawn to the house. It is the entry point in which abundance and opportunities find us. The Chinese consider red to be the lucky or sacred color. Many doors are painted with a fresh coat of red just before Chinese New Year to invite good luck and happiness....See MoreAdvice needed for foundation color
Comments (2)Before you paint, the entire house need to be seriously power washed, including the roof. Since you have a large area of gray roof showing, paint your foundation the same gray to echo the roof color. Consider painting the railing gray as well as the shutters. Then add window boxes to your windows. Get a small garden center to help you plan your landscaping, which will add a great deal to your curb appeal. But first serious, professional power washing....See Moresiding, shutter, and foundation colors?
Comments (3)blue will not compete. look in nature. blue sky, and all the tall green trees. i think a nice medium/dark blue w/your brick would be very pretty. you could also choose a shade of green. I hate the siding color that's currently there. The shutters on the front window, under the porch, are way out of proportion. remove them. if the shutters can't completely close over the windows, they shouldn't be there. it actually makes the front of your house look very crowded. your front is similar to this one. look how removing the shutters opens it up. I don't care for this yellow, but the smaller windows on the left look better w/o shutters. This color blue is nice BM Sparrow a warmer charcoal could also work. Other color combos...See MoreNeed advice on color selection for front door and window shutters.
Comments (4)I’ve always liked this Houzz photo, they don’t mention the colours used though. Is your roof brownish or grey? You want it to go well with your flowering plants too....See Morechloebud
