In case Jenn gets notifications on this thread, I have a similar problem. I wanted to use sconces but think there is not enough room so I think we might need to use a bathroom bar. How is the lighting you are receiving from the lighting? Are the shadows impossible? Troubling? Minimal? Thanks...should you see this.

It's very pretty - I don't see why not. From the specs it looks to be about 12 tall, which seems substantial enough for a dining room. My concern would be more that it takes only a 60 watt bulb, which isn't a lot of light. I assume, though, that you've got other lighting in the room. Would you switch it out for an LED? You could get a lot more light if you use, say, a 75 watt equivalent, which would still keep you well below the 60 watt maximum. However, part of the "look" which makes this fixture interesting seems to be the clear bulb with the filament showing. I'd try to find a showroom somewhere, to see how various bulbs look in it.

Mike, I remember helping you before. Glad you're mounting the sconces on the mirror, which will give you some light bounce. I would draw out the vanity and wall on graph paper and place the sconces accordingly. The issue is the unusually large space between the sinks causing your sconces to look shoved to the ends of the mirror. You do not want option B, overhead lighting. You might get away with three sconces but you'll probably need four with the slim style. You should consult a lighting store to be sure they'll provide enough light.

Well there'll be a ceiling mounted light which should theoretically cover the whole room. This then should be decorative but also will provide some coverage to the sides of my face. There are significant height difference across our family. I was hoping to find a one-size-fits most height, that also looks good!
