bathroom sconce placement! HELP!!
So I’m changing the faucets, lighting and mirrors( full wall custom mirror with sconce cutouts). The j box’s will be moved as needed, and as you can see the sinks are off center. My question is should I go with:
A) 4 modern vertical black LED light bars (36” tall) placed at eye level flanking the sinks.
B) double white globe glass sconce over the middle of each sink and a single sconce in the middle of the wall
C) 1 light bar on the outer edge of the sinks (by the wall) and a single light bar in the middle (all at eye level)
FYI This is a city bathroom so there are no windows. This wall is the main source of light but the shower does have overhead light. I also love a well lit bathroom, it feels so dark to me even after removing the lamp shades and flipping the sconces down. I know the huge mirror will help, but I may paint it white too. I want ALL the light!!!

Comments (4)I suggested just splitting the distance and smack dab in the middle between wall and mirror, ( 8" ) BTW....... watch the specs for required box as many need a smaller one, and these should be NARROW and un bulky looking in any scenario....See MoreBathroom wall sconces over 36" vanities?
Comments (3)It sounds like a lighted mirror or medicine cabinet is a good choice, to me. People are going to come on and tell you that they no longer like towers that separate the two sink areas. Water gets splashed, sinks feel crowded in, and so on. At that point, tell them that you will recess the tower into the wall 4" and only 6 " or so will be on the counter - LOL! Lot of people find that having the tower sit on a second layer of the counter material also helps keep the wood dry. It is like the tower has a little platform under it. Comments (6)I think you need to get your mirrors in before you make a decision. This is like asking someone, "Are these pants too long for my husband's legs?" when your husband is nowhere around! If you have very short mirrors, yes, this is too high. But if you have ceiling height mirrors, maybe these aren't too high. I suspect you'll find you want hanging sconces rather than perched (down instead of up) but you may not like the ones you have now. with this restriction. In either case, put together the room then make a decision. Things often look odd by themselves but good in a group. Comments (13)Well, I am trying to make similar decisions on this myself. I too had come across that it is better to have sink lighting from the side rather than above but have found the layout to be challenging and busy. So, I checked houses for sale with 2500 - 3500 square feet and none of them had side sconces around their mirrors. And only one or two had frames around their bathroom mirrors. Most of them had one large mirror across the sink area with lights over it. A bathroom can be a busy area, so from a minimalist standpoint, no frame. Now a mirror in the Livingroom really needs a frame....See More

4 years agoI picked a light (pictured bar in the middle) I got 4 and he’s putting the boxes in for wiring. They are going to be mounted vertically and they finally came out to measure for the full wall frameless mirror. I think I should evenly space the 4 light bars on the wall. NOT center them over the sinks now because:
1-there’s a stud in the way
2 - won’t the fixtures look too pushed to the edges
3- which will accentuate the dead space in the center vanity area?
