Summer yard pics
Comments (3)Thanks everyone. As far as watering the cannas is concerned, I don't think they've dried out yet. The early part of summer had excessive rains which kept them really wet. We now have not had rain in about 6-8 weeks. I water them well when it's starting to dry out, but they were so heavily mulched, it really never dried out thoroughly....See MoreMoral dilemma on home sale agreement
Comments (20)I think it's way past time, as others have said, that the seller turns this into a factual and legal question and not a moral one. So, instead of having a vague feeling about what she thinks her house is worth, get an appraisal. Instead of fuming about the buyer's lack of initiative, after the appraisal comes in (and assuming it is indeed higher than the verbal offer, which isn't at all clear yet) tell the prospective buyer about it. And last but not least, take with a HUGE grain of salt the realtor who showed up at the door. Re-reading, there is absolutely not an offer in place for $30K higher than what's being discussed. There is a realtor claiming that she *might* have someone who *might* be interested. That is a far, far cry from presenting a valid signed offer to purchase the house. As long as everyone is honest and straightforward this can proceed as what it is: a business transaction. Getting it tangled up with emotions of resentment, betrayal, and greed (all of which seem to be in play here) makes life much harder than it needs to be. It's just selling a house, not anything to do with friendship, owing anyone anything and of course getting the best price for an item which is for sale. And of course in the end it's also about not getting sucked into a sales pitch that could end up costing the seller a sure thing for a smoke 'n mirrors better deal....or counting on a smoke 'n mirrors neighbor sale that doesn't come through either. Get the facts straight and get going on the sale of the house!...See MoreMaybe it just wasn't meant to be .....
Comments (11)Phoggie, I know it will be hard but do try to rest a bit tonight and this weekend. I remember feeling physically awful, too, after the first day or two of emergency/adrenaline-fuled intensity. At one point my normally low BP was nearly 200 (that scared me enough to go back to the ER, for myself - but it was only stress fortunately). One thing to ask your DH's docs: Does he also have some fluid build-up in his lungs due to the diminished blood-flow from the blocked arteries resulting in pulmonary edema? That combined with a pneumonia infection will make your DH very uncomfortable. But fortunately they can treat that by giving him diuretics (Lasix) to flush the fluid out which will make it easier for him to breathe, despite the pneumonia. It's good he's in the hospital because they can monitor him and give him meds to support his heart despite the blockages as they resolve the other issues. I assume that since you're so far away that he's at a regional cardiac intensice care unit where they have a lot of experience treating this sort of thing? That's good! At a certain point you have to force yourself to understand that there's nothing more you can do at the moment. All that can be done, is being done. So eat (anything), sleep if you can, or at least do something to divert your mind. I stayed away from alcohol or sedatives since I knew I might have to drive at any point. Keep your cell fully charged, make sure you have gas in the car. Do some laundry if you're out of clothes. I hope you have much better news in the near future. I will keep on praying for you both. Comments (11)Wanttoretire. You need to do a preview and then you should come up with the place to put the link Same when you are inserting a picture. OK So you inspired m to go out and do what I could with the windows I could not reach. And that is about all I could do was give it a lick and a promice. I screwed my long handled ceiling duster handle to a window washer squeegie and got on my ladder and hung out as far as I could over the top of the kennel. I got one window pretty well but not great on the other. So the side windows do not open enough to reach under them. If not I would go for a high pressure hose spray and call it good. When we did have the high ceiling. Joe found a window washer thing that fit onto a hose that was about fifteen foot long. He used it to get those high up windows from the outside and then I just put rags on it to get them from the inside. Going to see about that magnetic washer it might work for me. I thank you for putting this post up because it got me off my butt to go out and wash the windows. Have three more to do and right now they are in full sun so waiting another hour when the sun goes down to do them but will do them tonight. I am on a roll. All the inside are done. So sorry your house has not sold yet. It certainly is darling. We sold our house just two years ago right as the market crashed but we were already into the deal. So glad. We were just talking about it yesterday how close we were to the wire. Chris...See MoreHU-536926276
