Help with Bedroom Design!
Comments (5)The picture by Rina is so nice because there are two different and smaller, more airy-looking nightstands that don't take up all the room. That allows your bed to be the center of attention, but also gives the room a less congested feeling than those two large, rather plain chests. Living in earthquake country, anything heavy above my head makes me nervous. If I were to put anything large there it would be an unframed oil painting. This is my bedroom (please ignore all the things wrong with it) and you can see that the headboard is taller than the one in the picture above and so the lamps are just slightly lower instead of slightly higher. If you pick skinnier lamps you'll have more room for all those necessary things (like the die-cast cars on my husband's side), clocks, flashlights etc....See MoreHi Designers! Comments (95)I'm going back and forth on adding in some small streaks of the green and bits of silver. Here's what I'm thinking as of now: 1) Base coat - Color match to the beige/light gray in the pillow that comes with set (see picture of forest green comforter I added above.) 2) Add a FEW streaks ("strie"- the vertical lines), of the green and light gray (or whatever the "beige/light gray" pillow color is). I would add maybe 1 streak of each every 7 - 8 inches. I probably wouldn't even be using a teaspoon of each color for the entire wall. I doubt it would even show in the pictures, but when one is in the room, they would see a very subtle lines of the green and light gray. And if I even change the comforter, I could just paint over the green and light gray streaks. 3) Add the metallic paint (something light and "pearly") as the final coat on the headboard wall. 4) Paint the rest of the walls in the base coat (the beige/ light gray color matched from the pillow.) I really like the "drama" of the forest green comforter against the light walls. I also love that large gold metallic vase in @Molly 's picture. Thinking of doing something like that in a pewter. Now just have to find a massive vase that doesn't cost $300+ dollars....See MoreHelp! Master Bedroom Design Dilemma

Comments (9)So you're going for the British Colonial style for this room. You can place a double dresser across from the bed and though you provided only severely distorted images of the room, it looks as though there might be room for two small nightstands on either side of the bed. Do your bed posts provide you with the option to reduce the height of the posts at the footboard? I'd consider doing that. Do you only have one piece to the set, or can you purchase or locate additional matching pieces? You could coordinate with some dark rattan-style furniture. I would add drapery panels and a unique ceiling fan to the room....See MoreAnnie K
