HELP me decide what to do with window!!
Comments (6)I would tile the window area to the same height as the backsplash so that you have a continuous line of tile across the area. If you decide not to tile inside the window recess, however, you can end your tile at the outside corners with a bullnose tile....See MoreHelp me decide where to stop window trim and where to tile
Comments (0)My contractor suggested taking the window trim to the ceiling topped with crown. There will be 2 wall sconces above windows with a wood hood going between the windows. If I do that, I have a place to end the backsplash to inner edge of windows. If I make the trim shorter, it will go right under the sconces and then I have the issue of tiling between the trim and crown and will tile the entire wall. The space between top of windows and ceiling is 12" There are 2 15" deep uppers that connect to countertop on either side, leaving 9" between window edge and cabinets not including the trim Now sure what to do with the sink wall backsplash or window trim either. This is the style of trim I wanted...See MoreHelp me decide what to do with a 50 yr old healthy Chrysler Imperial
Comments (19)I agree Diane. It is a pretty amazing rose bush to survive on so much neglect and absolutely no supplemental water for so long (my hubby's parents used to care for it, but fell ill for many years and it wasn't a priority), to handle a crazy transplant in the heat of summer here, and still be putting out huge blooms just a few months later! I think it will end up being just fine. The idea of RMV doesn't really bother me too much. Its funny abut my nails. I do them myself while I'm reading or listening to a video lecture. It's a gel that cures by UV light and lasts about 2 weeks. I usually just stick with the same few colors... burgundy, red or lavender. And I wear latex or vinyl gloves in the garden, usually under other thicker gloves like gauntlet gloves. I like to have pretty nails and pretty flowers. :-)...See MoreHelp me decide what to do with the trims in my 1954 Cape Cod.
Comments (13)Thanks, all! I'm thinking through all the options.... I don't really want to take stained trim out of the two upstairs bedrooms because upstairs is really where I like the stained trim the best. Feels very cozy to me up there with the sloping ceilings, and just works. Part of the reason I don't love it so much downstairs, and especially in the dining room is because of the wide trim around the sliding glass door that is a different color and type of wood -- it just clashes, plus the built-ins are painted white, and it's a a mish-mash. Here's a scenario: What if I painted baseboards throughout the first floor of the house, and also the window and door trim in the dining room and kitchen, but left the stained window and door trim in the living room and rest of the first floor? Would that look janky or jarring? (Maybe I should note that we have quite a bit of wood furniture that my dad made throughout the house, so there would still be wood notes in the dining and kitchen.)...See MoreJen S
