I agree with Maddielee. A couple stitches from the bottom should cover the bra. Or, if you love the dress as is, yes, have a seamstress install a bra.

You could also wear bra petals but they don't support enough for me. Other than that I would alter a plunging bra before the dress.

I would definitely take it in to get altered or add cups. I'd trust the alterations people what is best.

LOL.. now I feel ridiculous. I never knew there were such deep plunging bras-- thank you, Bumble and Local! I also think a few stitches would help as Graywings and Maddie suggested. I don't need a few inches.. it's only a small bit of bra there because my bras are already plunging- just not deep plunging.

There's nothing so special about the dress-- it's just a jersey but it's all about the lines. It is slimming and just fits me right.

I also saw this one-- which would work and probably give me better support AND it is convertible. This one only comes in a 32-- but I will look around more. Thank you all!

I would definitely consider having a few stitches put in the neckline. I have such a hard time finding undergarments that are right for me. I was surprised that the one that local posted actually looked decent, but really most of those super plunging bras looked very uncomfy to me.

I have tried so many of the strapless for example and they all went back and I realized that I am not meant to wear strapless.

Love the dress. I would sew the opening just a bit to cover the bra and wear the bra you posted, Funky.

I like the bra you posted and it reminded me of something. Once I had a similar problem and I cut a bit of fabric from the inside hem of the article of clothing and made a little tube that covered the bit of bra between the girls. So when that bit of bra occasionally flashed it flashed in the same fabric of the dress. I think my bra clipped in the front and I just slipped the fabric sleeve on before i snapped it.

Funky that's a great dress, it looks comfortable and very wearable. I hope you work it out. Now if only it had sleeves! Unfortunately I don't bare my upper arms if I can avoid it.

There's such a thing as "modesty panels" for bras...

Or a camisole, but I would find an added layer a bit too warm, myself.

I love the dress, too! A well-fitting, flattering garment that makes me feel good is worth a million bucks.

I'm afraid that sewing the keyhole even a bit would impact the stretch across the chest and how it lays across that area and look awkward. I'd see what a seamstress could do to build in a bra first as Plan A, and then buy a special bra if needed as Plan B.

I would make a trip to Joann's (or a nearby fabric store) and look for lace fabric or lace trim to fill in the gap. Many times you can buy trim by the yard. If it's fabric, then just buy enough to turn the width to fit the length of the opening and comfortably extend beyond the margins of the gap. One-eighth of a yard is 4.5" - that would probably be quite adequate to span the opening and then some.

You could just lightly baste the insert in place since no one would see the backside.

LOL Robo.. it's not quite THAT plunging. I definitely couldn't carry that off!

The keyhole doesn't reveal much flesh-- (for me) it's not even cleavage really. However, I think the deep keyhole is part of what makes it flattering. Its the line and how it plays the loose empire top. I don't think lace will work for me because it will change that modern vibe and the line.

I reevaluated the bras I own and I think I can purchase one that will make it work.

I tried it on in the pattern. it's not really my style but it was cute. I am thinking the black is most versatile but the pink is most interesting.

Sure--it's a Michael kors dress. I got mine at Nordstrom via trunk club but you can find them at a number of stores. It's about $150 but it's not a new style.. I did see there were other patterns and colors available from places like ebay and poshmark MUCH cheaper.

Front close bras are generally lower in the front and should work with this...

I love the print, but I think I'd choose the black for this dress. But if you believe you'd wear both, get both! Especially if you purchase a new bra, you'll get more use out of it with 2 dresses. That would be my logic. ;-)

Hope you can make this work! Love both...the black would be nice for a dressy occasion with glam shoes and jewelry and the print for a more casual, fun look as it is a jersey material. Get both if they make you feel pretty :).

The straps on the dress don't seem to look as though you could wear any bra with straps and not have them show.
