Kitchen Island/table
Comments (1)I'm having trouble visualizing your layout. So is your cabinet is 24" x 74" or 24" x 46"? Do you mean 22" of overhang per side, or 44" of overhang on one side?...See MoreKitchen island/table lighting question
Comments (0)I have a low ceiling in my kitchen (7 feet, 8 inches). I already have recessed lights. I find recessed lights are really useful when cooking for I can clearly see what I'm doing. But once I'm done cooking and want to eat at my kitchen Island or table (the island is movable), I find the recessed lights to be too bright. Instead, I would love to be able to turn off the recessed lights and turn on a semi-flush light or short pendant light that only shines on the island or table. Does anyone know how I can search for such a light? I have tried but have not had success. What key words should I use when googling? I'll be very grateful for any feedback. Thanks!...See MoreKitchen island vs table and chairs
Comments (7)I don't see an island accommodating 10 people, and if I had to choose never having casual seating at a counter vs never having seating at a table I would choose to jettison the counter. . Your configuration is not unusual. I would think a traditional rectangle would serve you well. When we expand our table the island counter is a great place for extra serving dishes after the initial passing. Perhaps look for a thinner table? Losing the counter overhang on the island would give you more room for chairs at the table too....See MoreWhat lights should I use over kitchen islands and dining table?
Comments (18)the crystal one is pottery barn, the others you can find all over. for some cost savings, try Lampsplusopenbox. great deals. https://www.lampsplusopenbox.com/chandeliers-category/island-usage/search.htm this one is nice too. 75watts for each bulb. that should be decent light for the island area they have this one too. not bad at $367. I've ordered a few from them. selections are limited and they change daily. otherwise, try regular LampsPlus, and here on Houzz or Wayfair. https://www.houzz.com/products/lunar-3-light-cascade-pendant-no-767-clear-glass-shades-prvw-vr~111334315...See Morehousegal200
