New Classics: The Onda Stool
Sleek partial-back design offers a comfortable contemporary perch for your kitchen island, table or bar
A hot import from Spain is causing a sensation with architects and designers. It's a partial-back stool available in three heights called the Onda Stool. Onda was designed by Jesús Gasca for Stua in 2006. Functionally, its gentle curves were designed to feel comfortable on your gentle curves. In terms of form, said gentle curves have a modern flourish that contrasts nicely with modern architectural lines.
Onda Barstool | DWR
This is the Onda in its barstool form; it's also available in counter and table heights.
The Onda also keeps a low profile — one that does not clear the countertop or bar. This keeps a nice clean look from one room to the next, which is particularly useful in an open floor plan.
This room also has fun contrasts between straight and curved lines. Onda stools work well in this open floor plan, which includes classic Anziano chairs at the dining table.
The striking contrast between the white exterior and the seat colors works well in modern and contemporary rooms.
From this view you don't see the seat color, and the stools tend to blend in with the white kitchen island.
Here, the stools sit at the outer boundary of this kitchen, with their white backs and colored seats navigating between the white floor and the wood cabinets.
