Kitchen island/table lighting question

I have a low ceiling in my kitchen (7 feet, 8 inches). I already have recessed lights.

I find recessed lights are really useful when cooking for I can clearly see what I'm doing.

But once I'm done cooking and want to eat at my kitchen Island or table (the island is movable), I find the recessed lights to be too bright. Instead, I would love to be able to turn off the recessed lights and turn on a semi-flush light or short pendant light that only shines on the island or table.

Does anyone know how I can search for such a light? I have tried but have not had success. What key words should I use when googling?

I'll be very grateful for any feedback.

Zorro, I would love to see this island you are getting! It sounds unique and intriguing. Thanks for the feedback. :) Nini, your kitchen is gorgeous! Thanks for the pic to show me your lighting. The cans in your pic are around the perimeter counters, correct? I will also have those. I guess I am just afraid of the very center of my island being dark(which is over my sink.) The two pendants I have chosen have a single 100watt bulb. Also, when I look at Houzz I cannot find one pic with that has two pendants with an additional center can over the island. This makes me leery of doing it--like maybe there is an issue with shadowing or something.

the crystal one is pottery barn, the others you can find all over. for some cost savings, try Lampsplusopenbox. great deals. https://www.lampsplusopenbox.com/chandeliers-category/island-usage/search.htm this one is nice too. 75watts for each bulb. that should be decent light for the island area they have this one too. not bad at $367. BREAKS!!!!! THOSE ARE BOTH MUCH TOO LARGE! 1. i would either do a semi flush that would act more as the "central ligh" in the space or use the smallest one from the family you like. 2. over the table i would use a more traditional chandelier. bare in mind it only needs to be about half the width of the table, and keep in mind the literal size of the room. this is the size for the island if you go that route https://www.homedepot.com/p/Golden-Lighting-Colson-4-Light-Pewter-Globe-Chandelier-3167-4P-PW-BLK/312229590 this is pricy but it would marry well: https://www.ebay.com/p/28028510707
