Seems like I shipped cuttings of her all over the US! lol! I didn't take any of my achillea, morning glories, monardas, ferns, hostas, etc. I'm really going to miss my pink Morning Glory Tree though. It had just started blooming & was about 15' tall. I'll be able to replace most of what I left behind next year - when I decide what I'm putting where. :) *Karen 'Day Dreams' is looking only half-naked at the moment! lol! Yellow? Did someone say yellow kitchen?? Whee! It's the best! I'm on week 4 (or so) of painting just 1/2 of my kitchen yellow (barley, as rm said). Only half for now, because it is so exhausting and time consuming. I searched for the right yellow for about 6-7 months. It drove me nuts! The lighting in the room changes the color so much! I am wild about the barley color during the daytime. It is impossibly creamy without screaming 'yellow.' But at night, with the (incandescent) lights on, it starts to holler (not quite scream) "yellow, yellow, yellow!" I think I'll try cf lighting to see what that does. Those creams can turn really yellow as soon as the sunshine hits them. I see tons of kitchens that are called yellow, but painted cream (e.g. phila cream and precious ivory are a lovely yellow when the sun hits them). I"m also doing a yellow/black/white sort of thing. I have soapstone counters (which were blackish, but are now grayish), and will have subway tile with a black and white accent strip. Here is a pix (doors are just balanced in place, and don't have final coats on them yet). I think the barley needs 3 coats to look really rich, and the right paleness (it seems to get a bit paler as the coats go on). I can't see bungalow_house's photo. Rats! carree, the Hirsch tile is gorgeous, but waaaaay out of my price range. I'm going to post a new thread for BS help. I'm finally back with some more details and hopefully some better photos. We just got the new NXR installed and a few last minute details finished. We made our first "real" meal in the oven tonight! Whooppeee-- feels like a real kitchen now. For those who asked about the NXR, I will try to post in the appliance forum, but the first one arrived with damage (ordered from Costco). After trying to get it repaired with warranty company, we opted to just return it and get another one. Smart move... should have just done that from the start. Anyway, the 2nd one is the charm and it works well. I'm posting a few new photos just because I'm embarrassed by how blurry the first ones are. Maybe I should edit the original post? I posted the insides of my drawers in another thread. As for the MO shelf, it looks nice when it's closed and seemed good when it was planned, but not sure that I would do that again. It's hard to open the cabinet next to it if it's open and it's just a PITA to open and close it. We are not big MO users, but our kitty seems to insist on having his food heated for exactly 8 seconds! Thanks again for the help and BS suggestions.
