If the buffalo check was red, then it would give you a shabby chic look with similar colors and the spread would be great. Since you already have the black curtains, but like Pottery Barn, perhaps the more muted colored patterns would be a good fit. Do you like the Bethany or the Audry...they are still busy but the colors might not be so competitive. I personally love the Strawberry Tree and almost bought it at one time. Have fun and you can always return it if you don't like the look....See MoreMaking a Duvet Cover
Comments (2)A duvet cover is just a big pillow case and easy to make. The thing is getting material that is wide enough to make it. I suggest you look at sheets. If you can find a pattern you like it would be easy to make a duvet cover and even drapes out of flat sheets. The thing about sheets is they are already hemmed. You need 2 flat sheets to make a duvet cover. Measure your duvet buy the sheets that most closely matches the cover. Leave the top hem alone and cut any excess off the bottom and sides. Make sure you leave enough on the top to overlap the seams. Now sew all three sides leaving the top open. Then sew velcro on to the hems to close the envelope...See MoreJazzing up a duvet cover-need ideas

Comments (21)Thank you! I tend to agree -- large bedrooms seem wasteful, especially since most of the time there is spent sleeping. As I said before, your room looks GREAT!!! On my side of the bed, I have about 18 inches between bed and wall -- plenty for me to walk and i'm the only one that goes over to that side anyway. If we do upsize to a king, I will keep my walkway but on the hub's side, his path will shrink down from 3 feet. I *think* we can do it, but haven't attacked the room with a measuring tape yet (one of the many things on my "to plan" list. It's commendable how you gave the mr. the bedroom closet. I commandeered ours for myself and make him go to a different room ;-) Here's hoping for continued non-dog-stepping!!!! *cheer*...See More- 4 years ago
