Debra, I had to look up Sword of Justice to see the pattern, it is lovely as is. Personally, I like yours better, with the pattern it seems to “busy” to my eye. I’m having a hard time liking busy, appliqués and teeth. I guess I’m just an old fashioned girl with the emphasis on old : ) Reckless Girls and Sweet Child of Mine are my favorites to day, what a magnificent performance on SCof M today!

Sherry - I love that busy pattern on Sword of Justice, but I also think it's pretty without it. I bought it mainly to use in hybridizing.

What a great clump of Sweet Child of Mine!! Just beautiful. Velvet Throne does indeed look like velvet. Lovely clump of August Frost and I loved Black Panther last year. But they are all so pretty and so nice to have blooms in this heat and humidity.

Kate - We've been lucky here - the humidity was low yesterday and today. High temp yesterday was 89, and today it will be 91. That's cool for July in Nashville. LOL Velvet Throne does have a velvety look. I'm not sure if I'll be keeping it or not. It's performance in the second year has not impressed me. Sweet Child of Mine and August Frost are terrific performers every year. Black Panther has not faded as often as last year, and it's actually set some pods for me - which is more important to me than the 40 buds it had last year.

I wonder why I talked myself out of Kingdom Without End, really my kind of flower. Sweet Child of Mine has really been blooming well for you. Too bad about Catching my Breath. I like the color and sculpting on it. Velvet Throne is stunning, and so is Reckless Girls. Lucky you if the humidity is not bad, it seems nasty here, but trying to rain. Again. Got 2 inches of rain Thursday, almost an inch yesterday. Better chances of rain today and tomorrow. I need to go check on my Boundless Beauty, it is going to bloom soon and I forgot to look this morning.

Reckless Girls has some shorter scapes. It certainly is taller than 23 inches, but yes, there are some short scapes. The Color of Wonderful is blooming, but it is a young plant, so one should be cautious in evaluating the blooms. Pictures of it, including my own, tend to show more saturation than does reality. Mine is also more salmon. Will see next year. Kingdom Without End is a wonderful cultivar. Color here is same.

Brad - I think I'm really going to enjoy Carmen Renee. I love the color, and it starts blooming pretty late.

Nancy - Catching My Breath was a bonus from Charmaine Rich. I hoped it would do well here because I liked the sculpting, but it needs to go north.

Mantis - That's a pretty photo of The Color of Wonderful. My photo was taken in the shade and has more blue tones because of that. It's supposed to be a coral rose, and that's what your bloom looks like. Mine is usually more rose than coral. Maybe it's the soil. I was acutally hoping Kingdom Without End was more red like Born to Reign so I could cross with red lines. But I'm happy to cross it with purples too.

As usual so many I like! Well of course KWE is a favorite because I like it here, Velvet Throne is gorgeous! Love that clump of Sweet Child of Mine. What a difference in bud count with Black Panther! Boundless Beauty is also a favorite :)

Nat - The plants around Black Panther have multiplied a lot and have taller foliage than last year. I don't think the plant gets as much sun as it did before. There were also rogue irises that shaded it early in May.

Ocean Spirit is one I think about when I fantasize "if I had room" for more UF's.. It's late and the color/pattern is striking. Maybe someday.......You got a picture of Mary's Baby looking a luscious purple. Every once in awhile the temperature/time will be just right here and she will lean more towards that purple color. Most of the time though she's more maroon. I hope she grows for/on you..........Season Finale was a nice one here too. I was forced to gift her out when I did a cull a couple of years ago, and I wish I hadn't had to..........I missed Teddy Bear's Picnic and A Little Fire Scarecrow. Did you post them already?.............Maryl

Maryl - Mary's Baby looks true purple here in the shade and maroon in the sun. Teddy Bear's Picnic no longer blooms well because it's in too much shade. I usually get a good picture of A Little Fire Scarecrow on July 4th, but it didn't have any blooms that day. It's still in a pot and it got pushed in the deep shade when the mowers first came. It was only taken out recently. Bud count and color are miserable as a result. Many things go awry when I'm not the one mowing and taking care of the yard.

Sword of Justice is lovely, and so is Blue Jay Tapestry. Of course, Sweet Child of Mine blows me away and I really like Teckless girls.

Thanks Kay! I'm glad I didn't get rid of Blue Jay Tapestry. It's doing so much better this year. Sword of Justice is so photogenic, I'm taking lot of photos of it.
