I always love Allegheny Skyline. I don't think Bengali was open the day I visited. I like it, even though you say it's lighter this year. What a lot of blooms on Elegant Candy in this picture! It seems very happy in that spot.

Sailor Sky. I don't really like the loud in your face colors of this or South Seas, but guess what really catches the eyes

Tall Dark Stranger, again, I am not sure I like the color so much, but what a performer. It started blooming fairly early and is on its last blooms now, about 6 weeks. This is its 2nd year in my garden like Sailor Sky, so another year or 2 it may be even better

Tropical Depression. Actually, I may have this one mixed up with Bradley Bernard I have posted above. jI need to look at them closer

Subtle Knive has been blooming really well this year, but for some reason I have not gotten a clump photo of it

Velvet Eyes

Whip City Fancy Free looks so good this year, 2nd year for it. The picture was taken in full sun, but I like the color of it much better this year

Well, Nancy, looks like Houzz is working just fine for you, so many nice blooms here. Citrix, Subtle Knife and Motown Blues caught my eye. I have Tall Dark Stranger, like mine, it’s an unusual red and is early it’s second year. Sailor Sky is appreciated here because it’s a late. I like your Velvet Eyes, such rich color.

Wow, Nancy......Houzz actually let you post a lot of photos with success! I am happy to see a couple that I sent you are doing well. I also got Tall Dark Stranger from Laura but it just came a month ago so I'm not seeing scapes just yet. I planted mine in a semi-shady bed where I get the most purple so I will be interested to see what color it gets here. That shot of Discarded Beauty and friends is my favorite. And of course I love Allegheny Skyline and Gift from Heaven. Dances with Giraffes looks great. I like Bradley Bernard too. A great, successful post! (BTW, some of the ones from you have scapes!)

Great bunch of pictures. I always love seeing posts of Allegheny Skyline and that is a great shot of it. Jamaican Me Crazy is very interesting. I had Bradley Bernard but it was always pale and washed out so I got rid of it. Yours has more color. I am pretty sure you have the correct picture for it.

Looks like your Orange Velvet is doing well; mine sure is. Claudine's Charm and Discarded Beauty are very pretty. My Elegant Candy is also going crazy after only 3 years. I do like bright ones like Sailor Sky, as I have South Seas and Coral Majority; they are all similar. My Brave World is doing its best ever too, & has bloomed well for 3 years now. No way will I move or touch it!

Houzz certainly liked my regular photos just fine, I even went above the limit of 10 in one comment section. Every picture I post from my phone, except the 2 I got posted, are turned sideways and I can't work out how to correct it, or why only those 2 I got posted weren't turned.

Thank you Sherry. Yes, I think I will really appreciate Sailor Sky since it is a late, and I don't have a lot of lates, and several I do have don't bloom well or long.I really need more very lates, but I don't want more yellows or orange, and it seems so many very lates are that.

I wonder if your Tall Dark Stranger will be purple for you, Celeste. I would probably like mine if it were more purple than red, you know how I love purples. I told you Bird Talk has scapes. Well my visiting grand-dog barrelled through it, and literally chopped off one of the fans. I thought at first a deer had come through and chomped, but the foliage and bloom is lying on the ground. You have to know with the other daylilies all around, it is the one I am waiting on. I still have 1 scape though.

Brad, thanks for confirming that. Last year I could not find the tag on either of them. Tags always mysteriously disappear for me. I struggled with them last year because they looked very much alike and I could not tell from pictures. This year they look different. Isn't it funny how the bright colors seem to be very vigorous growers and bloomers? Brave World has done well here for the last 2 years after I threatened it.

Debra, I forgot to bring your attention to Lavender Stardust after you mentioned Motown Blues looked like it. Here Lavender Stardust, at least this year, is closer to the color of Hush Little Baby than Motown Blues, at least the Motown Blues you saw. I thought I had taken a picture of Lavender Stardus, but can't find it now.

Nancy in regards to your phone photos , how are you holding your phone ? Do you take the picture with the phone in the position (vertically ) as you would hold it if you were going to make a call. If you do , that iscould be your problem . I don;t know what kind of phone you have but my Iphone used to do the same thing till I googled it and discovered I needed to hold my phone horizontally to take the picture . It will then post correctly .

I bet that is what I did! They show up fine on my phone screen, but turn when I post? I have a Samsung phone, but an obscure one. I should have used it more before I needed it. I don't tend to take a lot of pictures any way, and only used my phone for photos a few times. I guess all will be sideways, and quite possible the few that are upright, I just happened to do it horizontally.

Nancy, these are all so pretty!! The clump shots are lovely. Gotta love the workhorse Orange Velvet. Enjoyed seeing Velvet Eyes as I lost mine last year. Elegant Candy will crowd out its neighbors but is really pretty in a clump. And Subtle Knife has great color! A really nice post!!

I saw your Subtle Knife clump from last year; it has done well for you. Velvet Eyes is not for farther north, but it has nice color. Jamaican Me Crazy was difficult here too. Sometimes a move is all that's needed, though mine moved farther away. Yes, it is strange how colors can vary from year to year. Your Bluegrass Memories looks good. One grower warned me that it does not like hot sun. Cosmic Eye has a striking pencil eyezone.

What a lot of flowers you have. ...... I wish I had more room as I've always wanted to try Velvet Eyes and Claudine's Charm....Cosmic Oddessy is pretty even in it's paler form. I like it.........Bradley Bernard has a nice pattern and color in your shot...........So many nice ones to choose from............Maryl

Wow, so many great pictures and beautiful blooms! Tall Dark Stranger looks great - I'm sorry you don't like the color, but at least it's a good performer! I find the color really interesting and like velvet-y-ness of it most days :) and I think the veining and eye are nice too. I'm glad you got to see Dances With Giraffes bloom this year! Subtle Knife always looks good to me, but I bet it wouldn't do well here.

Mantis, Subtle Knife has certainly been doing well for me, has rebloomed the last 2 years.

Maryl, my problem is that we have over 5 acres. I certainly don't need more space for daylilies, but I still am under the spell of the addiction. I can easily add space for them, but I am trying not to. I want to reduce what I am tired of to get more lates or just something new.

Thank you Laura. And not that I dislike Tall Dark Stranger, I certainly like it better this year than I did last year. It blooms so well it is not going anywhere even if I hated it :) I agree, that velvety band on it and the eye makes it stand out, it did not show up nearly as well last year. Subtle Knife is in a more protected area here, so that may make a difference for me. Lots of plants here are no more reliable than they might be for you. As Debra reminded me, we get cold days in the winter. many winters we get a few days below 0, but we don't have the snow cover so lots of heave.

You are really having a lot of blooms, Nancy. I especially like Rapid eye MOvement and Jamican Me Crazy, but Bradley Bennett is my pick today.
