finding water treatment pro's and other q's ?
Comments (1)Hi greenough1 -- what did you decide to go with? We are similarly having trouble finding an unaffiliated, "independent" water dealer, and I'm afraid to use a plumber who might not be experienced with water treatment systems. Thanks....See MoreNew Find at local Orchard! Help my ID please
Comments (9)Hmm, seedmoney has a good point. Was there a larger plant of the same type? When large, they are distinctly different plants. Crassula Morgan's Beauty leaves grow 'flatter', while Crassula cotyledonis (dubia) grows more upwards. Cotyledonis leaves remind me of a Kalanchoe thyrsiflora (paddle plant), even though they are totally different plants. Not sure if it helps at all, but here is a cutting from my Morgan's Beauty, for comparison:...See MoreOld terrazzo in a 1962 home
Comments (3)I understand the difficulty finding someone with the equipment and skill to do this work. It is my understanding that many skilled persons who used to do this work gave it up because people would not pay what the work is worth. I would think that their must still be someone doing this work in the southeast. Keep looking....See MoreWhere can i find worms locally?
Comments (2)stevie, do you have a compost pile of your own? If you do, you could probably find some redworms in that, especially if you regularly add veggie scraps. That's how I got started in vermicomposting. I had a bin with an open bottom on bare ground to which I added my coffee grounds and kitchen scraps. One day when I was adding some stuff I did a little digging around to see how well the material was composting. To my surprise it was loaded with redworms just below the surface. Guess they had just found their way up thru the pile from the native ground beneath the bin. Another good source (from what I've read) is to have a look in any moist pile of old horse manure (the manure that is.....not the horse!) Check out a site called NW Redworms. I believe his farm is in Camas, Wa. He has a video there where he is hauling out loads of redworms from somebody's pile of horse manure. good luck Harry...See MorePeter P.
