7 years agoReflective prayer. It is that form of mental prayer in which the mind, in God's presence, thinks about God and divine things. While the affections may also be active, the stress in meditation is on the role of the intellect. Hence this is also called discursive mental prayer. The objects of meditation are mainly three: mysteries of faith; a person's better knowledge of what God wants him or her to do; and the divine will, to know how God wants to be served by the one who is meditating. (Etym. Latin meditatio, a thinking over.)

Comments (19)Laceyvail, it’s just a hobby. Comes in handy for scientific drawings (her minor will be in Entomology, so lots of bug drawings). She did get a couple of jobs, usually from her Professors. She painted a toy chest, did a book cover for an English professor, a poster for another. And was paid to draw a picture for the South Carolina Wildlife magazine. She is working on a children’s book for her “creative Inquiry”, but for this she just gets some of the books. Comments (21)Inspired buy dedtired's pic of the many windows outlined in red on the building. I counted 57 there. Would you believe that there is just 2 less in this house next door to me. Yes 55, not including any windows in the outside doors. Watched those windows being installed last week. Comments (17)Oh! That Madonna's pose reminded me of this lovely painting @ The Huntington in CA. It has a glare because I forgot to turn off the flash on my camera and was immediately admonished by the guard. I was so embarrassed, I didn't try another shot.
