Don't recognize them. It would help to know where you live so we could eliminate some plants that only grow in the north or south. It is not uncommon for weeds to drop seeds which regenerate the plant even though you thought it was eradicated. A second application of whatever you sprayed would be needed.

Post on the Name That Plant forum - that is intended specifically for any kind of plant ID and those folks are very fast and very accurate!! This is not a lawn care issue :-)

To me, that looks suspiciously like hosta foliage, especially a mature clump that someone has attempted to get rid of.

Though based on what is in our wooded area it is a little late. (Slope of the Piedmont Plateau east of Raleigh.)

As I said we have been told that is what they are, however we have never seen the blooms. and they disapear late in the summer.

My baby hostas kind of look like that. You have any hostas in that area?
