What to do with large framed print that no longer works for us
Comments (15)Another option is to post an ad on your local FreeCycle. You won't get a tax credit, but you should be able to find a good home for it easily. FreeCycle is much safer than CL because FreeCycle members must register and get approved before they can post or even see messages. Unlike CL, FreeCycle doesn't allow come-and-get-it ads because they waste gas. If you do post it on FreeCycle, be sure to ask people to give you a definite day and time when they will pick it up -- this helps to keep the no-shows to a minimum. Also, don't necessarily offer the item to the first person who replies, because some people respond to every posting that seems to have some value, and then don't follow through. When I give away things on FreeCycle, I try to choose someone who lives nearby because there's a greater chance they'll pick it up promptly. Comments (15)Water-resistant canvas is immaterial. The prints themselves are printed with water-based ink-jet inks (that's why they need a UV coating), which will run if they get wet. They may call it 'giclee', but it's just an ink-jet printer, with all the same problems. What in the world is the point of 'water-resistant canvas' anyway? It's cloth. What's the point, unless you're going to hang them in the shower?...See MoreWhat to put on walls besides canvas art?
Comments (27)I think you are sick of "fake art" and are wanting something with more depth. I would actually look into finding some great artists that you love and want to support. Plus, when you have actual pieces of art on your wall you need negative space around it to really showcase it. Here are some to check out... Tschiegg Alexa Rae Studio Thai Mainhard Lisa Golightly Mercedes Tabish (She even does custom portraits, which can be done for each of your family members. Plus, she's really affordable) Hope this helps!...See MoreHow to mix wrapped canvas art and traditional framed prints
Comments (10)I have all kinds of art together. I like the various textures, sizes, frames, types of art and more. I have a gallery wall in the living room that has a combination of three-dimensional items including a wrought iron decorative oversized "key," some canvas art, old maps, original drawings, photographs, architectural drawing, prints, a piece of jewelry, and more. It all looks fantastic! But there is various formats of art all around my home mixed with blank walls and simple mouldings. I encourage you to put together what you love where you want to see it....See MoreFlo Mangan
