Comments (8)Here are some settings to check to be sure the comp is set up for your monitor: Rt click desktop, then properties, then settings tab (be sure the screen resolution is set to your monitor's native resolution, found in the literature which came with it), color should be set to highest 32 bit, then click the advanced button at the bottom, click on the monitor tab (be sure you monitor is listed correctly), then click the properties button and make sure your video card is listed properly. If all is well, then you know it's not the hardware settings. If something is wrong and you can't fix it, let us know and we can help some more....See MoreWood Bedding Frame is longer than my Mattress!
Comments (31)The same thing happened to me yesterday. Similar gap at the foot of the bed. When I rang the store they tried to bully me into accepting that this was standard and that the doona (some call it a duvet, it's doona in Australia) would hang over and fill the gap. Well, for the doona to do this on the 35 cm thick mattress, it would have to be 2.2 metres long and standard doonas are barely two metres long. One kind salesperson suggested that their handyman could shorten the rails for me, which I originally thought would solve the problem, but then I was told by someone else that that sort of work is not in his duty statement and legal action could arise if anything happened when he was doing a job he was not supposed to. Tomorrow I will spend an hour dissembling the bed, shortening the side rails, shifting the connecting brackets along a couple of centimetres each end and then reassembling. A fairly simple job but the shop refused to take any responsibility. The man I spoke with even went so far as to try and tell me that he was doing me a big favour if he took the bed back and refunded me my money because I HAD CHANGED MY MIND!! What a bully! None of my friends will be going to "40 Winks" after this....See MoreDo cold frames work to overwinter trees in pots in Zone 3?
Comments (23)Back to the original question: Back in the 80's when I had my hardy perennial nursery here in what was then zone 4b, I dug the 6" pots and 1 gallon cans right back into the nursery row to winter and had pretty good survival. A lot did depend on how hardy the actual plant species and variety was though. I had more loss when early spring rains failed to arrive on time, what I called spring drought in those days. That is essentially what we now have with a spring wild fire season. Early and careful irrigation is as important as anything else, if the plant stock is hardy in the first place. The second question about cold treatment: I got almost 100% germination on golden delicious apple seeds by layering them between wet paper towels and then sealing them inside a small tupperware type container that got put in the back of the refrigerator and then just waiting them out. I am not so sure you need to get any colder than refrigerator temps to get your cold treatment. Definitely don't for tulips and similar spring flowering bulbs or garlic; prolonged stay in the refrigerator is used by a lot of deep south folks who grow them there where it would otherwise not get cold enough for long enough to stimulate flower production. I sorta doubt you need to put them outside or in really harsh temps to get your proper treatment. From what I have seen of honey locust, you may not have to cold treat them at all in the first place....See MoreWhere to put large canvas print that I love
Comments (15)I like this last suggestion, with the picture above the sofa. I find that this lovely tree is not on its place between those two windows, kind of too high. I would also suggest to put them near the door, like behind the sofa as it stands in your pictures. I love canvas prints!!! Ordered mine https://www.frameshop.com.au/canvas-prints after a family photo shooting with our newborn and we placed them on the wall near stairs. This could also work as a suggestion, maybe you can move them away from the living room to another one....See Morevampiressrn
