And a question for the plant lovers out there - is this scabiosa?

DH planted it last year and neither of us remember what it is. I try to save the plant tags to help my memory!

Marie, that is an echinacea also known as coneflower. That one is so pretty.

It does look like Scabiosa to me. The Coneflowers I have are much taller and

the middle is seedy and not flowery like this?

I agree with scabiosa. I have an echinacea with a center that is similar but the petals are longer and so are the leaves. Would post a photo but the June beetles have done a bit of a number on them and they don’t look so great this year.

I bought a raspberry plant mid summer last year. This spring, after consulting one of the forums here, I cut the plant back and it took off!! It's grown so big and now producing raspberries!! I eat one just about every day. I can't wait for them to come in at once, so I eat as I go! LOL I'm just thrilled it's producing fruit.

I think the plant looks like my Echinacea double delight. Can't see the leaves but on my scabiosa the leaves are fern like.

I love that ruellia, Dawn! Is it in your garden? I miss mine so much. At this house, I had to grow it in a half-barrel to contain the roots. But it would quickly get so root bound it would demand water every day. It required dividing and repotting every other year, and that was such a chore and potting mix eater, that I finally got rid of it. Wish I had the land for them.

Jim, Ava is right - it is a Gazania (from South Africa), and it's grown here as ground cover. I think it might be related to ice plants.

gyr, I took that picture at Lumpini Park in Bangkok. There are beautiful gardens in the park and we spent one long happy day there wandering around and exploring.
