When do we do our fall planting in north central Indiana
Comments (1)Well, I am a little south of you in Central Indiana. I sowed in pots on the picnic table. I sowed cauliflower and a dab of broccoli on June 17th for a mid July plant out. I also sowed the later broccoli about 4 days ago in pots. for late July plant out. My varieties are full season ones...not 50 day wonders [after plant out]. Next I plan to plant butterhead lettuce and spinach in pots about the 26 of July. Also snap peas in the ground then. I also will plant lettuce and spinach in the ground in early August....See MoreShould we paint our exterio white in North Florida with pollen ?
Comments (1)Sure, paint it white. May have a yellow-green tinge for a short time in the spring, but the rains will wash that away. Seems like Atlanta is the pollen capital of the world and there are zillions of white houses here. Rosie...See MoreNorth Dallas Builder Suggestons
Comments (14)If you Google Pool Builder Dallas TX some of the first names that come up are Anthony Sylvan and Blue Haven. They are national builders that build in many cities. Some cities they're okay, most they're not. I haven't used them personally, but I've read enough bad things to stay away. My neighbor used Blue Haven, had a problem after the pool was installed and is getting the run around. I would go with a local custom builder who will work with your budget. 30k isn't bad but it's a basic pool, you're not going to get any upgraded features such as custom decking or PebbleTec plaster or anything like that. You're going to get aggregate decking and white plaster. And no spa. That's fine if that's what you want. Don't just look at designs and cost, look at the materials and processes that each company uses. What's their steel schedule? Plumbing schedule? What equipment are you getting? What about if they hit rock? Do they re-route sprinklers? How do they apply their gunite? Etc... There are so many factors that go into choosing a builder. Riverbend was my 2nd choice. They had the best design but lost out because I felt I wasn't getting the quality I was with another builder, and their price un-negotiated was higher....See MoreI Think We Should Invite All of Our Friends Up North
Comments (20)I don't know about other families as my family is no more than 30 miles away at the most. The other 3 and families live from a half mile to about 4 miles away. We get together every holiday, birthday, any day we want. On the second of Dec. We will drive the 30 miles to attend Great Grandson's 3rd birthday bash. When our parents were living we would go to both places on Thanksgiving and for Christmas, it was Christmas Eve at my folks with family and his on Christmas Day. We are just used to being all together whenever we want. Sue...See More- 7 years ago
