Daylilies I DON'T Like
Comments (49)Debra, I think you're right about the climate (and my soil isn't the greatest, either). With some of my purchases, I wish I'd known that my northern weather might prevent the daylily from performing up to par. With some, like the scape on LADY NEVA, it's more a characteristic of that cultivar. With regard to AZURE VIOLETS, I've seen beautiful photos showing a deeper purple color and open face. But I think I've come to realize I don't care for gold edges on purplish daylilies. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions on the two unknowns. They're some of the only unknowns I've kept -- and just because they're pretty....See MoreDaylilies that don't fully open.
Comments (3)I am wondering if perhaps you meant BILL NORRIS rather than ED NORRIS? ( there is no Ed Norris registered.) Usually if a bloom doesn't open well here, it is temperature related. Some blooms just do not open well especially if you have cool morning temps. I live in the upper South and we have been quite hot this summer - BILL NORRIS has had no trouble opening here ever, that I can remember! If you consistently have cool morning temperatures, that is likely the reason for the blooms not opening fully....See MoreJust got new windows - what I like and don't like (low SHGC)
Comments (1)Why did you choose Milgard? Also, does the Sun Coat Max treatment lessen the amount of light as well as heat? Thanks in advance for your reply....See MoreOpen toilet paper holder - like/don't like?
Comments (12)I finally get fed up with the wiggly TP holder I got at Pottery Barn. It's just a bad design having one attachment point holding a horizontal roll with constant pulling and tearing. I found this one at Rejuvenation. It costs almost twice as much as the PB holder but it's very stable with two screws. It's also got much more heft and coordinates well with the other PB items in my bathroom. Yes, it was made in China, but it makes the PB one seem flimsy in comparison....See Moreorganic_kitten
