Didn't Expect This From My Fragrant Blue
Comments (8)Well gee, I wrote a whole response, and clicked, now it is totally gone. What was I saying? My mine erases once I dump the data. I'm not familiar with characteristics of leaf changes, Santa. I got my first streaking hosta this year. Hope someone can answer to your satisfaction. I give you the way FBRibbons looked soon after I got it in 2012 from Naylor Creek. It was the prettiest powder blue I ever saw. Then in 2013 it came up without the white margin, and I could really tell it looked like Fragrant Blue. Taken in May, they are still blue here. Then another picture of 2014 early in the season. Like April 16. Our spring was fairly cool so the blues looked great. I put FBR in the back of others, made sure it stayed in the shade to avoid burning the creamy white margins. Other than turning green later on, the margins are still good. It has good substance like FB does....See MoreStamped Concrete Coping Pics--Help Save this Marriage!
Comments (12)love2weed- sounds like you are stressed and frustrated, and building a pool can certainly do that to you!! I wanted concrete like mkfmedic (that looks fantastic, by the way!!) but our builder wouldn't do it, telling me it would not look good around our pool. I had pictures of what I wanted - they had issues visualizing, and probably wanted to make more money . . .Now we have a cast stone product which is super because in 100 degree Texas heat, it is not the least bit hot. However, our contractor is gone and won't make the problems that remain right. What are we to do? We can't match the stuff without him. I say this to say to you - go with something easy and that you and your hubby can agree on. You probably don't want solid concrete around the pool or else any settling will cause you major problems down the road. If they put the saw-cut lines in, or lay the coping and decking with a division between, not only will it add design but will be sturdier. A lot can be done with concrete - pass it on to your other half. Simple is good :)...See MoreBotched stamped concrete patio job
Comments (6)Well luckily for me they didn't follow their own protocol and collect 1/2 upfront and the other half upon completion so technically I haven't paid this company a dime. There is no gravel under all that, no wire, the foundation of my house and my existing patio along with my screened in porch from has concrete all over it. Not to mention an isolation joint wasn't added next to my houses foundation or next to my existing patio. And I'm pretty sure my 13x10 doesn't have a single control joint in it. Oh and water runs right along my screened in porch frame and continues right under my patio door leaving my screened in existing porch wet. I actually want it ripped up and hauled off but I'm scared of cracking my existing patio and even my houses foundation....See MoreWhat colors for stamped concrete patio?
Comments (40)Thanks, Yardvaark. I’m definitely taking all this feedback into consideration. Thankfully (?) because of the rain we’ve been getting they are running a bit behind, which gives me time to still play around with color choices. I’m leaning towards the middle picture that you posted. I‘ve been told that with the amount of sun our patio will be getting the reds and dark charcoal will fade sooner, the contractor we‘re using said the charcoal will need yearly sealing to keep its color....See MoreBeth H. :
