Comments (17)Wow, that's a lot of money but better to pay that to a professional. By "cutting down to roof level" do you mean topping? I wanted to do a ETA to the above: The strings of lights on the twigs in the mailbox cover are battery-operated and on timers. One string consists of little purple bats and the other orange/yellow pumpkins. The batteries last about a week, so I buy AAs in bulk. ha...See MoreI'll show you mine/you show me yours - M 6/6/22

7 years agoAnother one of my seedings bloomed today. I pushed the pad around to show that it is plain. It is partially under water. It isn't chewed, as it looks in this picture.
This is another one. They aren't any great shakes in the world of waterlilies, but it has been fun seeing the different colors from the same cross. And I have at least a hundred to go!
- 7 years agolast modified: 7 years agoI had this waterlily in my pond in Venice, and it looks like yours, Marilyn. This one is tropical, and it would bloom from about June through January. This is the only waterlily I had that had a fragrance, but the fragrance was not very appealing to me - it was very spicy smelling - not sweet.

Yes, they bloom continually, even into winter here also. It does look similar to mine. Mine has variegated pads, like the pollen parent. It has been interesting to see the variations in all these sibling waterlilies. This one is my favorite so far. - 7 years agoI also grew this ginger in Venice, and you can see the waterlily in this photo as well. This ginger had the best fragrance of anything I've grown. It was a bit spicy in fragrance, but it was sweet smelling also, unlike the waterlily.
