It was explained to me that 2 day shipping means the items are boxed and leave the facility within 2 days. It does not promise 2 day delivery.

When I placed the order for this item, it said it would be delivered by Friday, until I got the email confirmation and they changed it to Saturday. Today it's now Monday.

They must be taking hints from USPS on delivery.

Two day delivery means it arrives at the ship-to address within two days of the order. USPS? I think that varies from place to place. My orders handled through USPS always arrive when promised, including on Sundays (when USPS seems to be handling all the Amazon deliveries). I ordered something late afternoon last Saturday and it arrived via USPS the next day (Sunday) around noon. I expected to get it on Monday.

Sounds like the problem is with the delivery company not with Amazon unless the address is wrong. If it is the address you need to check Amazon to see what address it was being sent to. Here there are so many streets with similar names but are Avenue, Lane, Street. Road etc. One digit off on the zip code can send a package to an address several counties away but still be in the same city.

I had one on Thursday that said “delivered, handed to resident”. It was not, and I could not find it. Did the live chat with Amazon. He said the driver mistakingly marked it as delivered. I should get it on Friday. I did not. Called customer service. From what the lady could see, the package was scanned halfway down my driveway. It’s about 400 feet in a “J” shape. I did get a refund and had to reorder.

Debby, I’ve had that happen to me and I agree, when you’re paying for prime (as well a higher price) for something you expect that item to be delivered in two days. In my case, I called Amazon directly and they actually offered a credit for the inconvenience. When I called their customer service line I used that call back service and it worked out really well. I was pretty happy when I hung up.

I don't have Amazon prime but whenever I have called the customer service line with a problem, it has been very well dealt with.

You need to call Amazon and complain!

I'm going to phone Amazon when I get home later today. I know it's not Amazon. It's their shipping company, which I clearly stated in my threads title. When Canada Post did the shipping (and they still do as I work in a store that has a post office and I see posties bringing Amazon packages to mailboxes there all the time), my shipments were always on time.

Also, my address is on my account and has not changed in 25 years of living here.

USPS has done that to me a couple times with Amazon deliveries. They check a box in the system to make it appear to Amazon that the package couldn't be delivered but it wasn't their fault.

I had a situation a couple days ago with an EBay package not arriving on the delivery date. I went back to the order on line, and there was a box to check to get a $5 EBay credit for late delivery.

Not a universal problem with USPS apparently but in my area it is a big one of packages never arriving, or misdelivered, or arriving days-weeks late, but yet marked either as delivered on time or "unable to deliver because". Some may have to do with package thieves, but there are plenty of stories available of USPS employees found to be falsely marking items as delivered or undeliverable or even ditching the packages entirely in order to meet their daily quotas.
