Comments (42)As someone with a home that also has a lot of big white walls to fill, please do take your time with this. I know it's tempting to just fill the walls with anything. But patience pays off. We've found it helpful to work with a local art gallery. They pick out art they think will work for our space and our budget, and loan it to us so we can "try it on for size" for awhile. Or if you're more creatively inclined check out toats' threads -- and make your own art!...See MoreHelp! What should I do with this space?
Comments (14)OK, you could use the 'dining room' as your family's eating area, and use the 'breakfast room' as...something else? What would benefit from having all those nice windows that are in the 'breakfast room'? Laundry? Crafts? Mom's Desk? My 'back hall' is between kitchen and garage. It contains laundry, cabinets, a powder room, and a big closet. (Could you put a powder room where the plan has 'laundry'? It's really convenient to have a 'facility' near the family entrance.)...See MoreRemoving island - What do I do what the light that was above it?
Comments (19)Have the electrician redo the wiring to add pot lights to the whole kitchen you have no where near enogh lighting in the space. I too would like to see a floor plan and if you think white wood blinds are going to add lighting think again .As for the fridge you need a counter depth one and MW hoods are IMO the last resort.Since you have a space above the cabinets you could actually vent to the outside with a proper hood. Maybe before getting futher along post a floor plan....See MoreNew bulbs appearing above ground. Very neglected what should I do with
Comments (2)Cindy, Because of your location (zone) cannas can freeze without protection. Since yours have somehow survived in their present location you might simply remove the above ground foliage after a light killing frost and heavily mulch the rhizomes to prevent freezing: otherwise you can simply dig the rhizome clump and store in a cool moist area and prevent the rhizomes for drying out. Kent...See MoreKimber Byars
