Raining and cold today here. Only a high of 50. Ugh, getting really tired of this!! I don't have to worry about flooding, just staying warm!

Lucille, I think we are in for it until at least in the morning. Anyway that is what Jody said...I thought I heard the weather man say until tomorrow evening. I got soaked feeding the horses this morning. It wasn't going to let up, so bit the bullet and got to it.

Gave them hay too, and fed the pigs, so I was out for an hour. At least it isn't cold rain.

The grass is crunching here. It has sprinkled on and off. Bring on the rain the peach farmers need it.

I can't remember when we had two consecutive days without rain here (north of Chicago). Last night we had over an hour of constant lightning and rain at about 1 a.m. I have yet to water my potted geraniums and have added water to the fountain once since it was set up last month. Our landscaper can't mow the back sixth of our lawn towards the creek. The driveway apron can't be replaced. Two panel of fencing can't be replaced. Nobody can get any outside work done; they are so far behind. I feel for the farmers whose fields are too wet to plant.

I'm staining the deck trusses every day, just before it rains. We went across town and there were piles of hail. Altho it's June, I'm still cold. :0) Wearing capri's and a fleece hoodie.

Day 24 without rain. We were supposed to get some today. 4 inches expected from Friday to Sunday. We will see. Even some of my older trees are already getting yellow leaves.

I don't want any rain either... my ground is still soooooo wet.... but rain is in the forecast anyway... YIKES!

Yes, here in northeast Michigan it has been rainy and cold so far this year. Tomorrow I'm going up to Alpena for shopping and they are saying maybe 71!!! Was going to go today, but rain and 50. Not a good day for shopping at all. The weather man said the temperature of Lake Huron is only 40 degrees. And there have been people SWIMMING in it! Good Grief!

I am sick of rain! There's flooding all over the news again around Houston. It rained so much this morning my skylights in the sunroom leaked puddles on the floor. I have a garden club meeting in the morning and I know it's going to be raining.

My plants needed the rain this week.

My allergies have been bothering me for quite a while. I think the extreme dampness we've had because of ongoing rain is causing high mold levels.

I'm not looking forward to the mosquitoes that will hatch once the water recedes and it gets hot! Blech.

Our May rainfall was less than half of normal. We were supposed to get some rain yesterday and today but so far just a minor sprinkle yesterday and it's sunny today.

We need rain desperately. Toronto - feel free to send some of your rain to the west coast. The cities are warning people to not throw out their cigarette buts as things are so dry.

It is blistering hot today after all that rain. I have a lot of work to do outside, but the heat is suffocating.

Here in the supposedly damp PNW, we are well below normal rainfall levels for the year. Again. This is becoming a yearly occurrence. Wildfires are already present.

Too bad things can't even out more.....it always seems to be feast or famine.

Marilyn I believe the rain is coming back tomorrow and the heat is going to get worse. And Chisue makes a good point about the mosquitoes. I don't see how you can get all that outside work done in those conditions.

So glad to see the sun shining today. The heat is going to get progressively worse.

I am a cpl hours north of Toronto-the flooding up this way this spring season has been horrendous,and rain darn near every day.

We noticed in one of the cities south of us a cpl hours yesterday, that one of the big rivers is still really high-so they certainly do not need any rain down that way either for a cpl of weeks.

We FINALLY have sun today with the prediction of sun for a few days-greatly appreciated as we are super soaked here too....the good thing for us is that we are on high ground-no fear of us ever having to deal with flood issues.

We just got a big windy, downpour. I was on the phone and computer with the realtor....buying that place in Apple Springs...and it messed me up for feeding the horses. So it is after 8 and I still haven't been able to get out. I will be feeding in the dark tonight.

provogal, I can't even imagine flooding at the lake there... it is such a GREAT lake, seems like it would spread out so far, before becoming a problem.

It rained record amounts here in OKC. Lots of roads, and intersections were closed, and FB was really busy talking about it.

Raining here again. Supposed to rain for the next week or more.

The lights have been off here for about 3 hours. An old lady died who lived a few miles from me, and I have been feeding her cats for about 3 months. When I went to feed them tonight, there was the light company working on a pole on the highway. A firetruck was there, so I guess a transformer caught on fire. When we came back, a short time later, looked like they were finished, but that was a couple of hours ago. It is sweltering in here. I don't know what the hold up is. Maybe a tree down on the lines. When I was out feeding the horses, I saw 2 trees broken off at the tops. That is unusual for here, but it was very windy there for awhile.

How are things, Marilyn? I hope your house sale and purchase of new one are going well, and that the move is not too hard on you both. And will have help in doing so!

This rain and these storms are beyond the pale! I sure do feel for those of you experience such terrible weather.

We are set to close July 19th. That is if nothing unforeseen happens. My buyer is closing on theirs July 12th.

Marilyn I'm so happy for you!! How are you going to move all your critters?

That's a good question. Horses will haul two together. Some of my horses don't get along. So, 5 trips, counting the donkeys and mule. I have moved my lily tanks to a pen in the front pasture, so they will be easy to get to. They will go on a flat bed trailer....about 3 trips because some are concrete and one of those is very big.

Fish will travel in smaller tanks with oxygen bottles. All of my fish are reasonably small because I lost the big koi in the flood. I have about 30 fish...more than half are goldfish, so they travel easily. Waterlilies will be set inside plastic garbage bags and closed, to keep them from drying out too much.

Hogs that I can catch go to a local guy. The buyer said he'd take them, but I don't want them roaming all around to neighbors, so I will try and get them all. I feed around 75 lb of feed a day to them....more if I have it. He won't be able to deal with them and has no idea what he is in for, if they stay. So best I catch them.

Dogs and cats go last...when we go. But here is my dilema:

I furnished food to an elderly lady who fed a bunch of cats. I had no idea how many...until she died and they started going to the neighbors. I didn't know she had died. Until I got a call and I have been feeding them about 3 months.

I don't mind feeding them....I have plenty of free catfood. But I am leaving, so I guess I will be taking them with me. :-/

I can get them all neutered for free...it is just time consuming when I have a lot going on. And how many cats are there?

I also have to buy a couple of portable buildings and have some fences built for the dogs. And figure out how to contain the cats...hers and mine, in a strange place. I do have cat cages, given to me by one of the shelters some time ago. Oh. And I am taking the owner's barn cat too.

That is a lot of work. I'll bet anything that if you talk to some of the local rescue groups who you have helped for so long, they could get to gather a wagon train's worth of people to help, it would be newsworthy and fun and I bet a zillion people would help. Cowboys, truckers, little old cat ladies, you name it. I bet Steinhauser's Feed store would pitch in for the PR value and Stanton's too.

Lol a good old fashioned wagon trail! I understand the dilemma with the cats. My cleaning ladies, mom and daughter, were left with 13 cats in the house when their landlady died suddenly. They have bought a new house and moved out but drive back to the house daily to keep the cats taken care of. She has begged every rescue we have heard of but none of them were willing to take them. They are adults and kittens are much more likely to be adopted. It's a terrible situation.

I am so happy that this property situation is working out for you! It might be easier to hire someone to help with a larger trailer for your horses and barn animals so that you have fewer trips. Planning it out like you are doing is essential! I wish there was something I could do to help you out. Don't hesitate to ask if you think of anything I can do for you.

I thought the house looked very good. Older but it is in good condition. The barn is awesome and the land is just beautiful.

I was surprised how good it looked. The lady who lives there is 80 and has done a good job of keeping the place up. She raised Arabian horses but has had several mini strokes and had to go on blood thinners and the doctor told her no more horses. It had to be a tough decision to let them go.

We have had so much rain the past month or so. Many farmers have crops to be planted. Our small town fair was this last week and had really nice weather. Just a very small amount of rain. Got up this morning and we have rain once again. Kind of good due to our garden needing rain..

I'm hope those of you being inundated with rain get a break soon. It seems the weather brings either too much water or not enough!
