Beautiful Kitchen photos! Our bianco antico countertops and 6 inch backsplash are being installed next Wed/Thurs!!!! I'm going to paint the cabinets white (not sure about the island yet-maybe black/chocolate brown). I love the browns in the granite...I want the gorgeous granite to be the focus of the kitchen and the backsplash to be an accent...so since we only have about 12" to tile (and a space above the built-in desk) I am thinking of using a tile by American Olean/Urban Canvas in the Matte Nutmeg 2X4 with the Ellipse Accent 1/2 X 8 1/2 in French Mocha. Click on this to see the tile http://americanolean.com/series.cfm?series=144&c=49 My first thought was that we would use white subway tile, but the brilliant white is so close to the antico bianco that the granite looks dingy. ...I will make my final decision after the granite is in...oh, so many decisions! I have dark cherry cabinets and wanted biano antico granite but I have natural slate floors (which I love) and combination of the 3 looked off. We went with Golden Wave which will be installed in about 4 weeks! We are in the laborious stage of selecting sink,faucet, and back splash (think it will be tumbled travertine). Remember go with what you love!

i totally agree with everyone's advice here. i went to several granite yards and really liked alot of slabs, but i just felt i had to keep looking. then i went to a yard, saw this beautiful slab of granite and just knew "this is it"!! we had a couple more places we could have gone, but i said "no, i don't want to go to anymore places, this is it, i'm done" i made my choice then and there. when you feel there is "no comparison" between what you previously pick out and considered and the "it" slab, you know your search is over i knew it was the slab because i wanted to "throw it on back" and take it home then and there! it really is true, and i was doubter, you really will know when its "the one". you don't want to see other slabs and you know your search is over. i also agree with the "name of the slab". don't get caught up in it. each yard can call slabs by different names so just look for the colors you want and then everything will fall into place from there. my is called "sedna" and when you google it, there is nothing like mine on the web. so they might have used that name, but another yard can, and they do, call it by another name. get what you love, not what you think evveryone else will love or what you "should" you get. best of luck.. when you do find "it", you will know, and all your searching will be worthwhile because you will walk into your new kitchen every morning, and you will fall in love with it all over again.. But at the same time if a little tiling will tie up the project, then I'm game. jodi_socal: I'm a little disappointed when you said fire and ice won't work. I just LOVE that F&I BS. But then agin, I think I know all along it's a little too much for my kitchen. Caryscott & petra: Thanks for the picture petra, it says a thousand words. Is spectralight glass tiles? Prices are pretty reasonable. What about that milk green color? will it work? maybe with some garnet pieces sparingly mixed in.
