WOCA flooring footprints?!?!

Anyone had experience with WOCA floors. My husband and I have been in new house since last July. Floors are red oak with WOCA castle gray. They are pretty but the problem is that as soon as someone walks on mopped floor, there is very Visible footprints and smudges. I’ve contacted WOCA and they think a step was left out when oil was applied! only Woca cleaners or water used to clean floors! any tips?

What about the maintenance oiling? Any plans for the reapplication of the finish oil? Oiled floors have a history of showing 'things' that no other finish will show. Foot prints are the BIGGEST upset. Especially stocking or barefoot prints. It turns out the skin oils are SHINIER than the finish.

Anyway, after almost 1 year with your oiled floors, it might just be time for a full maintenance oil/reapplication of the the finish colour. This is part and parcel of the oiled finish I'm afraid.

The Woca website has 11 (eleven) options for cleaners/maintenance oils, etc. That is IMPRESSIVE. Which means the homeowner needs to know what to use and how to use it and how often to use it. You are welcome to reach out to the company that applied the finish to ask for maintenance tutorial for your selves. It may cost a few dollars but it will save you thousands of dollars over the life of your floor.

Check the amount of Soap you're using and make sure the directions are followed closely as to proper rinsing of the mop in the rinse bucket.

"An excessive dosage of soap may leave visible footprints on your freshly washed floor. Simply clean the floor with pure, lukewarm water to remove the excess soap."

WOCA has quite a few options with their finish platform so without knowing what your floor person did, it's impossible to say whether it's a potential source of the problem.

I find it odd that WOCA doesn't mention staying off the floor for a certain period after cleaning, as some other manufacturers do.

I have the Home Depot Lifeproof LPV being put down now. It is a beautiful chevron design in light color wood grain. We are half way though and I want to rip it out. It looks gorgeous and that is the only good thing. The fake wood grooves hold dust and grit. I vacuumed, swept, swiffered mopped and mopped again and finally on hands and knees washed and dried the floor and if you run a hand over it there is still dust and grit. Also, I kept hearing about the good sound quality in a room compared to other hard floors and that it was not as cold as tile. BS on that too. I gave the installers a day off on a Friday hoping I would feel better about it in a few days. Nope. I feel like a fool. I spent almost $10,000 and even though it is gorgeous, I hate how cold it is and the grit just will not go away. I am in such a quandary. It was very difficult to prep the house for the installation. While it would be financially foolish, it may be better to ditch it now. Very said here in Colorado.

Can’t remove footprints on LVP floor

1. Don't use Swiffer juice. It might be the Microban surface protection layer that is holding on to the footprints, but there are many threads about matte LVP flooring showing footprints more than high gloss. The Mannington (the brand you purchased) website suggests, 'a solution of clear, non-sudsy ammonia based cleaner in one gallon of warm water,' which isn't Swiffer. I have matte LVP and I use water and white vinegar without foot marks. It was explained by someone (other threads) that foot oil stays on plastic flooring (what LVP is). In your case, the installers (in their infinite care of clients' flooring) walked on yours with their outdoor shoes. You might have to do some handwork with a heavier vinegar base. Ultimately don't let your life be ruled by footprints on flooring. There's more to life than allowing the that to live rent-free in your mind.

Can anyone help me? i am going insane... I mop/vacuum almost every day/week but this is how my floor looks like RIGHT AFTER A VACUUM+MOP session. I've tried hot water+dish soap/vinegar combo + Selley's + other floor cleaners with no help! I don't know why it dries so patchy!!! Sometimes i can even see oily footprints and i can only remove them after using diluted dish soap water and kitchen towel to dry, but nothing works for the patches! It wasn't like this before - is it because of the floor cleaner i use? Any Tips/advise would seriously be awesome.

Also make sure you're using a cotton mop or the WOCA Swep Mop, not microfiber.

floors have been like this since installed. I have mopped with nothing but warm water for 2 months after WOCA rep mentioned this as possibly being the problem. Still footprints. Ive stayed off floor for an hour. Still footprints. I’m starting to think it’s just normal for very matte floors to show oily footprints. I just wish I would have known before and I would have used a different finish. we are seriously thinking of getting them redone and will not be using WOCA
