I just tried "Wood Wash" made by the makers of Liquid Gold on my very dirty kitchen factory-finished wood floors. My kitchen floor tends to get dirtier around the cooking area and getting it really clean has been a chore. I generally use a Hoover Floormate first, then Bona the floor. This "Wood Wash" did an amazing job with much less work, Got all the greasy dirt and muddy dog printss up and left a nice shine. No rinsing and no streaks. I used a quarter of a cup in a clean bucket with a gallon of hot water. Wrang the mop out very well and to just damp. I did buy a new sponge mop with a natural sponge in it made just for hardwood floors - Libman, I think. Anyway, this stuff gets a big thumbs up from me, especially if you have hardwood in your kitchen or if you have issues with muddy footprints from kids or furkids!

I tried calling Osmo North America today. No answer at the tech support line and the mailbox was full. I left a voicemail on the sales line. I did clean with Wash & Care first, and the floor seemed clean and dry after. Seems like I probably did use too much. I tried to use 2 teaspoons per square meter but I was eyeballing it. I had found those same instructions and gotten the impression that I would be applying it, then removing some during the buffing. But it seems like it didn't dry and can't be wiped off enough. Since it has kind of an oily look, I just tried cleaning a small test area with Dawn dish soap (soapy paper towel --> wet paper towel --> dry paper towel), and that actually looks more like I expected. I might try that on a larger area before resorting to mineral spirits, but thanks for the info that that's the solvent to try. If Osmo calls back I'll ask them too. I'll report back in a few days when I have time to work on this again. Thanks so much for the responses!

Ok...as Oak & Broad has pointed out, this could need a redo of some sort. I'm going to point something out here (once again I must state the not-so-obvious). Murphy's Oil soap is NEVER TO BE USED on polyurethane, urethane, acrylic finishes of ANY sort. Please throw it out. Murphy's Oil soap has been known to PREVENT refinishing...forever. If that is the case (once you speak with a wood flooring professional...and mention the use of Murphy's) feel free to start a class action lawsuit against them (I've been waiting almost a decade for this...but no one seems to want to go this route...sigh). Next...please use the steam mop on limited surfaces...like porcelain/ceramic/stone tile (but not marble), metal, concrete, glass. That's all that is allowed to clean. And certainly not vinyl or linoleum. OK...now that we have scared you, you can go ahead and start living on your floors. By the looks of it, you have "cooked" the finish (that's what the streaks are...they are hazing due to excessive heat from the steam = cooked finish = just like cooking an egg). At this point the finish is still functional but it is going to look ugly until it gets fixed. It is possible that a buff and coat *could* make the difference...but with the use of Murphy's you may have removed that option. A full sand and refinish will definitely correct this (removes all finish), but the use of Murphy's oil might have caused enough contamination that this might now work. If you only used the Murphy's once or twice, you shouldn't have a problem with a full sand and refinish. But the buff and coat is most likely off the table (like 80% - 90% chance it is off the table). Feel free to bring in a hardwood flooring professional for their opinion. Please please please mention Murphy's oil. It will give the professional the chance to make an honest assessment.

What about the maintenance oiling? Any plans for the reapplication of the finish oil? Oiled floors have a history of showing 'things' that no other finish will show. Foot prints are the BIGGEST upset. Especially stocking or barefoot prints. It turns out the skin oils are SHINIER than the finish. Anyway, after almost 1 year with your oiled floors, it might just be time for a full maintenance oil/reapplication of the the finish colour. Which means the homeowner needs to know what to use and how to use it and how often to use it. You are welcome to reach out to the company that applied the finish to ask for maintenance tutorial for your selves. It may cost a few dollars but it will save you thousands of dollars over the life of your floor.
