I have to say, I have never watched a single episode. I probably will at some point, just never started it.

No, so predictable from the start of the season. It was so obvious that Jon was going to kill her in the end. I was hoping for a surprise, though, but it didn't happen. Not happy that Jaime went back to his sister, who was downright evil. But a typical man thing to do lol. Brianne had a lot of integrity, I mean, she could have written a bunch of s___ about Jaime, couldn't she have?! Was really hoping Drogon pulled Cersei out of that tower and had her for lunch. So disappointed in her ending. So lame. Not happy the Hound didn't live happily-ever-after. Was hoping Arya went back for Gendry to take him on her travels... I don't mind that Bran ended up on the Throne. Jon also still has family, he is half Stark so has 3 living cousins.

I still don't understand why people who have nothing invested in a thread comment, lording over their superiority for not getting suckered into watching this _______(insert comment) show. Good for you, pat yourself on the back.

It's not true that Dany's character shift from good to evil came out of nowhere. Her cruelty was shown throughout the series. Remember her reaction when her brother was melted to death with gold? Or the slavers she crucified? Banishing Jorah? I didn't like that they made her all mad queen to the extent she would destroy King's Landing, though. That was ridiculous.

I thought the writing of season 8 was atrocious. And the lack of production detail, as evidenced by the coffee cup and water bottle which showed up on the finished product. Just another signal that everyone was phoning it in. Brienne and Jaime's love scene was so totally out of character for either, it was nauseating. Arya's love scene made me think I was watching child porn. I know she's supposed to be late teens, but I still looked at her like a little kid.

Jaime returning to die with Cersei was not cool. I thought it would have been poetic justice that Jaime would return to chop her head off. Now that would have been cool, and a fitting end to a cruel despot. Also repayment for Missandei. Jon being banished to the wall was dumb, there's no need for anyone to be at the wall now that the night king and the army of dead is gone. At least I hope he finds love with a wildling, ha ha.

I hope this pathetic ending to a once epic show will spur GRRM to get off his lazy butt and finish the series the way it deserves to be finished.

I thought the writing was lacking and the episodes rushed but I was ok with the ending.

Just want to point out that Jon didn't stay at the wall he was sentenced to. Upon being sentenced even he was surprised there was supposedly still a wall.

Jon being sent to the Wall was a compromise. As Tyrion explained, either giving Jon to the Unsullied or setting him free completely would have started a war. Jon still wanted nothing to do with ruling Westeros, so his "punishment" suited him just fine.

Upon his arrival at Castle Black, Jon found Tormund, Ghost, and the Wildlings waiting for him. It was clear that manning the Wall was no longer important, so Jon chose instead to venture North of the Wall with his fellow Northmen. With the White Walkers gone and no more Crows guarding the Wall, the icy reaches of the North are now a safer place for the Free Folk to live. It's possible (and fans will surely speculate) that Jon could establish some sort of new kingdom there as the new King Beyond the Wall.

My opinion only:

As for Dani razing the city by burning everything, my thought was that she wanted Cersei to witness what her rule had brought her--seeing everything she ruled over start to burn and watching the destruction, and that burning occurring in an orderly fashion, back and forth, was markedly visual for Cersei to see, and a way for the viewer to see that Cersei may start to think she's in deep doodoo. As Drogon and Dani got closer and closer to Cersei in her tower, Dani was *rubbing Cercei's face in it* as well as it was a show of Dani's unbridled power (which worked only because she had a dragon).

The twist, of course, was that even though the bells rang out, wanton destruction of innocents and armies alike were fair game, giving voice to the prophecy (?) of the Mad Queen. I didn't think Dani was "mad" (mental) at all, she was one angry queen and this was the lesson she wrought, and the innocents didn't do enough and so became collateral damage. To the victor go the spoils.

Jamie racing to Cersei, when he had opportunities earlier in the seasons that showed he was or could be a better person, and he could have chosen a different path, was a testament to their tightly enmeshed and warped familial dysfunction of their "love."

Arya, Sansa, Tyrion--glad for their ending. Bran, what an odd character, and yet, a perfect choice to rule at that point. As for Jon, what else could they do with him?

No, Terilynn, not aimed at you. When you so emphatically state that you have watched NOT ONE episode of whatever the thread is about then why comment? It's not just this thread or this show, it's everytime someone posts about some show that they enjoy and someone has to pipe in, implying they are too important to waste their time on such drivel. Must have caught me in a cranky mood, ha ha. Anywho, if you don't watch it, check out seasons 1-7. They are great viewing, season 8 not so much. At least it's over.
