Have you grown any of these specialty Tulip varieties? Pics, plz
Comments (4)If you want potted tulips in bloom contact a full service florist and find out what the industry supplies and in what seasons. This is a use until the flowers fail and then discard product. Those forced bulbs are said to be next to impossible to get to rebloom. While you're at it, if you really want to buy specific types blooming in pots, ask the florist if they know any greenhouse or nursery who will force custom types of tulips for a fee. That would be a specialty service that may be difficult to locate. Or force them yourself, which may end up being a pretty daunting task for a novice, although a whole lot of folks do just that regularly....See MoreWhere do you buy blotter paper, or what to substitute?
Comments (11)You use the newspaper between the blotter paper for pressing flowers. The order is corregated cardboard, blotter paper, newspaper, the plant, newspaper, blotter paper, corregated cardboard, etc....The blotter paper is not meant to touch the plants but to provide a smooth surface between the layers of corregated cardboard. The cardboard probvides the airflow needed to dry the contents of the press. If your press did not come with cardboard then get some boxes and cut some to size. I do not use paper towels next to any plant pressing. They can and do leave imprints on pressings. Newspaper ink is now a soy based product and does not smear as easily as it used to and have never had ink rub off on any plant pressing. I buy additional blotter paper at the art supply store-just take a blotter with you and they can get something close that is suitable. The sheets are very large (30" x 40"?) so I cut them myself. You can also buy traditional blotters for plant presses at places like Forestry Suppliers or Carolina Biological supply....See MoreWhich brand of LVT would you buy & which would you stay away from?
Comments (14)As I said in my original post, our Mannington Adura is glue-down. The flooring company we used refuses to do a click-lock on LVP installs. Period. If a customer insists upon click-lock they will sell them the flooring materials but will not do the install. They said they have had too many complaints with click lock installs and it just was not worth the trouble for them. If you read install instructions for almost any flooring, having a level floor is critical. All of the mfgs specify their tolerances for uneven subflooring and they're mostly all very tight (narrow) ranges. I think a lot of DIYers forget or don't pay much attention to that. We had to, our flooring joists are wildly uneven and no free-floating floor would have worked....See MoreHave you used a "specialty drycleaner"
Comments (21)Thanks, everyone. I think I will look around and ask around for a specialty cleaner, since it seems some of you do feel it makes a difference. I haven't called the seller, since their site and the item say Dry Clean Only, I cannot imagine they would court the liability of advising differently. Eld, I have looked online and it is no longer available for order. Then I went to the mfr website and looked for a retailer near me. There was a store that carried the line in NYC, but it was a boutique that closed a few months ago. I've not been able to find another one....See MoreBookwoman
