Anyone have experience with Blanco Silgranit kitchen sinks?
Comments (23)If you google silgranit sinks a list of sites will come up for you to check like faucetdirect.com, homeandstone.com, etc. I got my sink from faucetdirect.com and my ss sink grid from irawoods.com kaidan-Once I decided on my faucet (Kohler Forte) I went online to check the specs and the max. thickness was listed. My granite was the 3 cm/slightly more than 1 1/2" thick. Think the faucet specs stated 1 3/4" max. thickness ok so if you added in the extra thickness of the Diamond back lip might be over the 1 3/4" max. With some faucet models you can order an extender which would then work. HTH....See Moreanyone use quartzite tile on kitchen floor?
Comments (2)I really wanted it, but decided against for same reason clg7067 gives. However, I used it in the powder room and it is beautiful. I am still in the renovation process so do not know how easy to clean, but don't expect too many problems in the bathroom!!...See MoreCan you have too much Infinity White quartzite in a kitchen?
Comments (12)A few thoughts (from a non pro)… all quartzite would look lovely. If not the best. I really do NOT like the look of the contrast wood counters above. To me, they look like aidfferent kitchen got accidentally dropped in…. I too am concerned about the size of the bar. And what is the purpose? Does it have extra stoarge below that you need? It doesnt look that way in the pics but hard to tell. If no extra storage, then I would just scrap the bar and have the countertop be deeper on the penninsula so you can have stools. But be the full length of the penninsula. And horror or horror, what if for the 15 inch countertop overhang, you curved the corner so as to take pressure off the pinch point? i know this forum generally hates curved counter edges, as they are features in a lot of dated houses. But sometimes they serve a purpose and Ive seen them used to good effect a few times on here. I think the risk of datedness is low if (as it sounds) your kitchen is otherwise fairly contemporary and clean lines. also worth adding, my kitchen (which we inhereited when we bought the house) has a 32 inch aisle between the island and the main run!!!! So 32 inches in front of the range, the DW and the sink. It is bananas in a kitchen that otherwise is not that small. Having two people cooking in there is unbearable. But its not so tight that walking is a problem (for reasonable sized people). Im also not sure why, if your current situation is tolerable, adding 15 or 30 inches would make it that much worse....See MoreAnyone have experience with sheer paint? (Medallion kitchen cabinets)
Comments (2)Coastal Collection is not a "Paint"...it just looks like paint. It's less money than Medallions Enamel Painted finishes (15% upcharge). The Coastal collection only has a 5% upcharge. The sheer shows very little, if any, wood grain. The dry brush coastal DOES show more wood grain. I have samples in my showroom. The Castlerock is a very light COOL gray. The Harbor Mist is a warm gray and darker. I like the Harbor Mist better! But I'm not a fan of cool grays. We have the Seagrass Sheer on Maple in our showroom (on the Walton door)...with a real paint on the upper cabinets (I think it's Irish creme on the Jackson door.) See pics below...seagrass sheer is a green painted look....See Morejkpetre
