Watched a real good movie

Yesterday was hot and sunny and humid. I washed the windows and other stuff.

Today is the opposite, cool, drizzly and very windy, so I treated myself to streaming a movie.

I highly, highly recommend "Wonder", the story of a boy born with a facial disfigurement. The actor is the boy who starred in The Room (I haven't seen it nor does it interest me) and he does a wonderful job in Wonder. Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson and other big names star in it.

A truly feel-good movie and I got tears in my eyes a few times.

I love Netflix too! I think it's one of the most well run companies on the 'net, and their website is simple and easy to navigate. Be sure to check out the free movies you can watch instantly on your computer. You can stop and go back to them later. It's wonderful. I've enjoyed these recently (some are instant). Here are some I've watched recently: Enchanted - a very cute movie Atonement - I enjoyed it, watched it with 3 other people and they all thought it was too slow Bee Movie - cute Into the Wild - excellent The Brave One - different than what I was expecting from watching the trailer, but it was very good Dan in Real Life - very good! Watched it on the plane and now wishing I had watched it on a big screen Death at a Funeral - British comedy, hilarious!! Becoming Jane - very nice, a chick flick I guess Feast of Love - a bit slow moving but good, Morgan Freeman is in it and I always like him Rendition - pretty good We Own the Night - good, a bit of violence Martian Child - very sweet No Reservations - chick flick, sweet though, rated G I believe

I rented "The Kite Runner." It was as fantastic as the movie! Evoked all the same emotions, the beauty of the story was not just maintained, it was honored. The music fit the mood and the setting wonderfully. The actors were great. You do have to read most of, subtitles for everything set in Afghanistan or Pakistan, which is about 75-80%. I will probably buy it eventually so I can enjoy it over and over. I might even buy it for my mother for Mother's Day (I know she liked the book). It was just... WOW! Next time I get a day to myself, I'll rent "Atonement."

Another vote for The Wire as best TV show ever, and we have rewatched that, with our DD, when she was in 8th grade or so, but we don’t watch many series, although if we run out of options, I would rewatch The Americans and when I’m old and fully retired, I’d like to watch Better Call Saul and then Breaking Bad so I can compare and contrast what they got right in the prequel. We also rewatched a few seasons of Hill Street Blues and WKRP (I happened on the DVDs in a thrift shop) and they held up remarkably well, considering they are, ahh, of a certain vintage. Growing up reruns were on daily, and I’ve seen every epidose of MASH, Hogan’s Heros, Cheers, Beverly Hillbillies and the like a 100 times over, that’s what happens when the TV was always on, not something I’ve ever wanted to replicate, that’s why I’m a ”one and done” for the most part (The Wire being the notable exception).

I wanted to see that movie, so we will. added to the list. Thank you for the recommendation.

Son and I love movies so much! He's found a certain fondness for musicals (Dear Evan Hansen brought it on), and I waited until he was home from university to watch La La Land. Last night was the chance to do it. We both loved it! Oh. My point being, look how behind we are. We'll have to make time for Wonder.

I loved the movie Wonder. Now I'm checking used book stores for the book. I like both reading and watching something and comparing the two.
