I rented "The Kite Runner." It was as fantastic as the movie! Evoked all the same emotions, the beauty of the story was not just maintained, it was honored. The music fit the mood and the setting wonderfully. The actors were great. You do have to read most of, subtitles for everything set in Afghanistan or Pakistan, which is about 75-80%. I will probably buy it eventually so I can enjoy it over and over. I might even buy it for my mother for Mother's Day (I know she liked the book). It was just... WOW! Next time I get a day to myself, I'll rent "Atonement."

I like White Christmas, Holiday Inn, Little Women with Susan Sarandon, Noel, also with Susan Sarandon.. it's sad but I still like it. So many I like it's hard to choose. I have both Mrs. Miracles because I love Doris Roberts. I did not watch Christmas Shoes or Christmas Blessing this year. I've been watching the funny ones too. Christmas vacation, Christmas with the Kranks, both Home Alones, Elf, Fred Clause. I plan to watch Christmas Carol with G.C. Scott tonight. Unfortunately your options for a "great" picture and sound is going to be somewhat limited in that size of television because consumers generally want bigger TV's and manufacturers put their efforts into those. Your best bet is to visit your local stores and see what's available. Generally speaking the better quality televisions come with "smart" features but, obviously, you don't need to use them. As for connecting the TV to your computer, all modern televisions are going to come with some number of HDMI ports and a COAX connection. After that there may or may not be other connections (component, composite, etc.). Does your laptop have an HDMI port? If not, you're going to have to find a TV that has the port you need. As for watching over-the-air television, all you need is an antenna. The number of stations you can receive is going to be a function of your proximity to the local broadcast towers and the kind of antenna you have.

Just watched Hidden Figures and loved it! I didn't find it dreary at all? I do like the space race and I was really profoundly moved visiting the Kennedy Space Center a few years ago.
